Damn! That is nice. Just another example of the kind of upgrades flagship schools can pull off that directional schools cannot.
I'm not sure if anybody has posted this on eGriz before but here's a link to UND's athletic master plan. You'll notice that it has two stadiums, one outdoor "horse shoe" style stadium, and one indoor with a retractible roof. From what I've been told UND is going with the indoor stadium with the retractible roof. Of course ground will not be breaking on it until we consistently sell out the Alerus, but playing home games against quality teams like the Griz will help tremendously towards that endeavor!

Wow, an athletic master plan! Do we have one of those? or is the master plan to keep hiring from within and have that knowledge handed down via spoken word?

Isn't it law that all UND posters on message boards have to remove Sioux from their name???? What is the name now???

And BTW - the facility is sweet. Hope we are able to get one soon.

We are currently just the University of North Dakota or North Dakota. I believe we are not allowed to have a new nickname for another two years as a result of ND legislators and not the NCAA. The logic behind the 2 year ban on a new nickname was to allow students/fans/alumni time to adjust before making the transition into a new one. Some of the names being thrown around on Sioux Sports.com are the Rough Riders, Outlaws, Reapers, Nakota, and Aviators. Not sure if any of those mentioned will be end up being the new nickname but it's whats been thrown around on our board.

I'm still all for the name change to be less generic, like The Fighting Frackers, The Frickin' Frackers, or The Ruff Necks or even possibly the Pipe Rackers. :twocents:

Actually, none of the names just listed are being used by any other schools for the time being, so they would very much original. Rough Necks wouldn't be bad, but Frackers and Pipe Rackers? No way!
