UMASS Coach

Interesting to see the UMASS coach being let go after his second stint with the program. His first go round he took them to an FCS chipper. Granted they made the move up to FBS, but interesting to see he had nowhere near the same success with his second time around. I’m not trying to tie this into our program in anyway. Just hoping we don’t follow a similar pattern. Excited for the future! Go Griz!

...if you don't want to compare to our program why even bring it up? strange?

It’s a team that made a similar move by doing a re-hire. When I say I’m not trying to compare the two situations, I mean that I’m not implying that Bobby will be unsuccessful such as the UMASS coach was

The two different levels makes the non-comparison virtually meaningless, in my view.

Whipple, like Joe Paterno, played QB for Brown.

Good, in a couple years we will have to come to grips with the fact that Bobby is going to build our program like he built UNLV.

Why would you say that? Any basis?

I guess we'll decide in a couple years how things are going.

My view is that UM will be at or close to RTD by them.

I truly hope you are right, but I have serious doubts. If Eastwood is illustrative of Bobby's recruits, then I see the Griz in serious trouble.

I think Eastwood is a perfectly fine player. It's the Jensen, Favarso and Calhouns of the team that worry me. Hauck runs a cult and if you're not in it you'll be cast aside. It works fine until you get yourself into rebuilding mode, then it doesn't work at all.

Don't know what your gripe with Eastwood is. As a redshirt frosh, he started and gained 4.1 carry.

Sneed was a Hauck retruit. He was mostly terrific. An upgrade from what we had last year. 3 safeties transfers, all good.

What are your serious doubt from?

It's not a cult. Sneed is way better than Jensen was last year. Favarosa had 26 tackles, 3 TFL and 1.5 sacks this season. He gets to go to the playoffs, tho. Calhoun was the only Griz to get into trouble, and did it twice. If Hauck told him no redshirt and no scholarship next year, then he should have played the last 2 games.

What Hauck is doing is working very well so far. And no, I don't agree with everything Hauck does.

I know you are a intelligent guy but I am surprised that you continually pedal this false narravitive with stats and no story.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Sneed is the better runner for sure but in your comparison Jensen would never improve over 4 years. You should be comparing Jensen and Sneeds Freshman years.

Sneed freshman passing- 39 - 88 (44%) 5TDs 2 Ints

Jensen freshman passing-177- 294 (60%) 20 TD 10 Ints

As far as Favoroso(you know this) he had season ending surgery after week 5 game. Only, his coaches asked him after missing 3 weeks if could play the remainder of the season in specialty situations. He agreed to playing with a club/cast covering his right hand up to the elbow knowing how difficult it would be but wanting to help the team anyway he could.

As far as Calhoun goes I have know opinion as I don’t know the in house stuff pertaining to him.

What are you talking about. Really could he have done a worse job?

What I said is absolutely accurate. You are welcome to supplement to say what you want.

You fed the board and me a lot of incorrect info about the team and certain players early on, by the way, so your credibility is not high with me. The players including Buss responded quite well to Hauck et al, contrary to the biased stuff you tried to pedal.

No, I didn't know Fav had a "season ending" injury, just that he got injured. If he started playing again, I don't know how it could have been"season ending" either.

Comparing Sneed's frosh stats to Jensen stats is irrelevant. Sneed's relevant stats are what he did this year, and he had a very good season.

I don't think Bobby envisioned Eastwood getting the play he did. I think Eastwood was a steady player that Bobby had confidence in and would help provide depth when he came along. But with Calhoun's issues and less than ideal depth, he ended up being a large part of the offense.

Sneed, Jensen. Tomayto, tomahto. We didn’t gain or lose anything. Just some melodrama.

You're right. Still no playoffs. Still no beating the 'scats. Interfuckingchangeable.

In other irrelevant news, storied FCS Program McNeese State decides not to renew a third year, 21-12 coach struggling to beat rivals & not making the playoffs. What the heck could they be thinking? This is all Stitt’s fault.
