UM vs msu recruiting

Monte, take McQueary and Brekke OUT of the equation. We all know the Griz were after both of those guys as hard as possible. NOW, name the other four Cat commits from 2012 and 13 that had the SAME offer on the table from both MSU and UM and chose MSU.

And to answer the previous question, the Griz have one verbal from the state of Montana. I have heard MSU also has one in Brayden Konkol of Belgrade, but I haven't seen that confirmed.

Roderick (sp?) when he transferred.

He KNEW he wasn't coming here and playing QB. Thought he had a shot there...turns out that wasn't true either...

How about losing out on Grant Collins, the linebacker from Bozeman last year. He was a legacy cat and we had almost no chance, but I'm sure the griz wanted him. Don't know if we offered the same, but I can't imagine he didn't get offered a full ride by the griz.

In my view UM NEVER lost out on Grant Collins. Early on the staff knew he was never coming because Grant was actually a respectful enough kid to tell the staff no thank you. The scholly was then moved on and that was EARLY in the process. There is NO WAY UM was getting him. It would be about the same as saying MSU lost out on DD's son if it ever came to that.

They signed two kids from Billings that were offered, and the kid from Manhattan, who was the second best player in the state that year.

OK, Montana players signed out of high school that had the EXACT SAME OFFER from both UM and MSU and chose MSU.

See. there ya go spinning it again. If we only offered partials, we lost them to MSU. We used to be able to get away with that philosophy, but no longer. Do you realize how much more an out-of-state scholarship costs us versus an instate? Plus, way too many out-of-state kids don't work out. Many of the black players have trouble adjusting to Missoula and leave after a year. The attrition rate for out-of state players is at least double as for in-state players.

Doesn't it seem obvious to you that we used to DOMINATE our conference, with a much higher percentage of starters from Montana than we have now? That should tell you something, unless you want to drink Kool-Aid.

But the white kids don't?

BTW: Still waiting for that list you were going to produce of kids we lost to MSU over the past 3-4 years.
