UM vs. msu Predictions

You guys should definitely not lose this game. We have an 18-year old QB who struggles to throw the ball downfield consistently. We have one of the better rushing attacks in the conference but you know full well Semore is just going to load the box and dare us to throw. The only way we have a shot in this one is if we can run the ball and keep the Griz offense off the field and out of rhythm. And also, our defensive line is completely decimated and provides no pass rush. Our linebackers struggle in coverage, especially in the middle of the field. Actually, if I were the Griz, I would throw it there all game. Our defensive backs have definitely improved since the BS that went on the past two years. Overall, the only way you could predict a Bobcat win is if you also think some weird rivalry magic is going to happen.

Griz - 34 (one missed PAT)
Bobcats - 24 (offense has a surprisingly good first half, gets held to a field goal in the second half)

Good analysis of your team, Vim (of course). I've seen the same from them this year.

Your two safeties (in my opinion), McCabe and Garcia, are about as hot and cold as DBs come. By that I mean they will either knock the crap out of you, or they will ankle-bite and totally whiff on a tackle. In other words, they are aggressive or they are weak... and in the same game even. It's quite weird to watch.

I absolutely love your Colorado transfer CB however, Walker, he is legit and a lock-down guy. He shut-down those athletic NAU receivers...

I can't help but love LB Mac Bignell from Drummond. The kid plays lights out/hard...big hitter. And overcoming his hearing impairment makes him even more like-able.

It's true your DL has been wiped out due to injury. I will be very disappointed if the Griz can't run on the you.

Cat playbook this week:

At coffee today I said "GO GRIZ" to a guy wearing GRIZ gear. A lady sitting near me said something about being a cat fan and pointed to her hat but then said "I went to the game last week and it was great to win but we suck".

Defense is going to make the cats beat them with there arm. Secondary is going to have a big day. Cats db's are going to play to aggressively and get beat vertically by by JLM and Calhoun. Bingham is going to have a lot of key catches down the middle of the field for some key drives as well. It's going to be hard fought game. Good guys will definitely prevail.

Griz staff and players should have a lot of frustration from last week and being at home and still having the slight possibility of a post season, I see enough motivating factors in addition to the rivalry here to predict an all out effort:

Griz 52, Cats 24.

Close game. Newell and Flynn are going to test this defense.
Griz 28

The Griz achilles is the long ball.

I also think their barely turned 18 year old QB is going to be a threat on the ground... the kid is dangerous with his running ability and speed.

Hopefully we contain the QB on the read option run... and also don't give up the long ball on a play action fake.

msu QB is the team's leading rusher on the season. In fact he set an msu Freshman rushing record.
