You just don't get it, do you. We f*cking wanted Brekke BAD!

Actually.....you are missing his point....which has nothing to do with "how bad" the Griz wanted him.....

Don't come in late on the discussion and add your lame 2 cents when you don't even know what the discussion is about. I totally understand that Brekke is a bust. That does not change the fact that we wanted him badly, and the Cats out-recruited us for him. There have been plenty of hyped Montana high school players who turn out to be busts.

You get pissed at box for telling you that you missed the point, and then you respond with a post that proves exactly that. Do you really, honestly believe that the Cats "out-recruited" us for Brekke?? Get a clue man.

Tell ya what, ask one of the "insiders" that you are buddies with what they think about the Brekke situation. If you knew who you claim to know, then you wouldn't even bring this up.

Funny sh*t, but we'll leave it at that, Mr. Insider.

Really? Out recruited him? Do you not understand why he flipped?

I don't want excuses. Hauck flipped several Bobcat commits when was coach. It's called "RECRUITING"

So this is no longer an argument about "Quality"....

Of course it’s not about quality. Why the fuck would quality, ability or their ACTUAL performance on the field be any indication of how well the staff did in recruiting?

Also for the record, who are the "Griz insiders?"

If you call what happened with Brekke "recruiting" then you more disconnected with the program then I thought. You conveniently danced around it the first time, but go ahead and ask one of your "insider" buddies, or better yet the coaches you are buddies with what they think about this.

Look Raider, I'll say it one more time, for the dyslexic ones. I am NOT an insider! Period! Have never been. Don't wanna be! I just listen when insiders give out info, that's all. No, I will not throw them under the bus. Just remove your panties from your crack and the world will be right again. Jeeeez!

I'm pretty sure the young lad McGinnis doesn't read eGriz or even know it exists. At least I hope so. Christ-all-frickin-mighty some of you people are childish morons!

Good Fucking God! Can you not even read at this point?! Never called you an "insider". YOU are the one who commented on the "insiders" and coaches you are friends with. I simply told you to go ask them what they thought of the Brekke situation. Is that really that hard to comprehend? Drunk already?

AllWeather, I assume you well know that Atl continues to make up most of this stuff, including his imaginary conversations with coaches and insiders. However, even if he did know any, he wouldn't have time to ask about the Griz football and specific things, because he claims to spend most of his time talking to them about me. Should I be flattered that he wants to talk about me every time he sees a coach or insider around town (do you think this happens in places like grocery stores or what)? It's funny because not one of the 7 coaches who came to my party at Plonk last week talked about Atl/Growler. Sorry, but they didn't talk about you either, AWF.

You'd be a lot more knowledgeable about football and Griz football if you listened to the many insiders who comment on egriz. It's comical when you dispute things that multiple people have just been told by Griz coaches and true insiders. And then the imaginary conversations with insiders, wow.

Golf...the great game of insider information.

For the record, the major problem with MSU hasn't been with the Montana kids (we have done just fine over the years with contributions from them). It has been the out-of-state recruits not living up to expectations (leaving the team, not making grades, not even making it to campus, bad transfers, etc.). Choate needs to improve our out-of-state recruiting first and foremost.

I have made more significant business deals on the golf course, than in any other forum. Individuals relax and drop down their guard on the golf course.

Raider, you posted "And again, please explain why the Griz continue to dominate the Cats despite losing the in state recruiting battle and their “swagger”. You make zero sense with this."

Let me dumb it down for ya. Jeeeez, stop hanging around these hacks, it is rubbing off on your logic.

There is no correlation about whether we dominate the Cats on the field, and whether they have been signing the better Montana kids than us the past few years. As you know, Montana kids have always made up a minority of the total starting units for both teams, but it takes great out-of-state players to make a great tram. Obviously we have many more than do the Cats. At the pinnacle of our success, we had about 8-9 starters out of 22 from Montana. Last season, we had 3. During the glory years, Montana teams had a swagger that other teams feared. Most opposing teams knew they were beat during warm-ups. They feared coming into Washington/Griz. And that swagger came directly from the great Montana kids who lived-and-died by the great tradition of playing for the Griz. The out-of-state kids bought into the tradition, but it was the Colt Andersons, the Reynolds, the Shillingers, the Haucks, the Biermans, the Hilliards, the Harris, et. al. that set the aura of invincibility surrounding our program.

How many games were nip-n-tuck late into the 4th quarter..... yet we ALWAYS found a way to win them. It was a will-to-never-lose that prevailed in those days, and it it not there today. You can deny it all you want, but it has been lost in recent years. And, I maintain that the REASON it has been lost is because we no longer have a corp of Montana kids to drive the Mercedes, like we used to do. Let's face facts, Montana kids grew up with Grizzly football dominance, they lived it, and dreamed of someday being a part of it to carry on the tradition. Out-of-state players do not share that commitment. Most sign with the program that will give them the best chance to be an NFL player. It is more about them, than the program.

I hope that this explanation will provide my reasons for feeling the way I do. By the way, I play golf with a couple of Griz insiders, and we have discussed this very topic at length. They agree with me, for the record.

I've got to admit, I agree with AG1, at least with what he said above regarding Griz swagger and the in-state players providing the example of what Montana Griz swagger is all about. It is absolutely vital and a key to Griz dominance.
Definately something to think on. Were the majority of NDSU's starters the past 5 years ND kids?
No
