Congratulations to Michael. With Shann's stamp of approval and guidance as a coach I'm sure he's going to end up being a VERY good player for us, despite what some are saying here.

Well said Brewskis! How about being supportive of a new recruit and wishing him the best. He is an outstanding student-athlete that has excelled in three sports - football, basketball and track. He qualified for the state track meet in five events..high jump, triple jump, long jump, 100 meter dash and was the anchor on Sidney's 4x100 relay team. He finished second in the 100 meter dash, led the Eagles to 3rd place at state in the 4x100 relay, finished 3rd in the triple jump, had a personal best of 21' in the long jump and cleared 6'2' in high jump. He starts on the Eagle's basketball team and starts both ways in football, playing wide receiver and safety. All the while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He runs fast, has outstanding athleticism, stands 6-foot 3 & 3/4 inches tall and weighs 190 lbs. He has the body frame to add more muscle and the brains to excel in the classroom. He caught the eye of numerous Griz coaches at the recent Griz football camp and has the Shann Schillinger stamp of approval at the safety position. The defensive coaches, along with Passing Game Coordinator Nolan Swett, lobbied on his behalf to Coach Stitt during and after the camp. After a more than 1-hour telephone conversation with Stitt a few days later the Griz offered him a partial athletic scholarship and with his 4.0 GPA will likely earn academic scholarships as well. After weighing his options at Dickinson State, MSU, and MT Western in Dillon he committed to the Griz the summer before his senior year. What is there not to like about this kid?

Nice try 03!!VimSince03 said:How about the thread gets back to congratulating Michael on getting to play for his favorite team since he was a kid...just a thought.

Can you please explain to me what a "Griz Insider" is? Amazing how you've had "insiders" through multiple coaching staffs. And who, pray tell, are the two current position coaches that agree with you?

Hope he turns out to be a stud however.
Even getgriz can spot the guys who never played the game.

...but only if 13 are from Montana.
..........hey, I was just thinking that maybe having 14 guys on the field could stop Brekke from running all over us again............the same way Cody Kirk did if you remember.............

You just don't get it, do you. We f*cking wanted Brekke BAD!
Atlanta Griz1 said:Raider said:That is EXACTLY the type of response I expected. You came up with 4 players (kind of) to support this argument. You have got to be kidding me!
Brekke: Switched his commitment from UM to MSU amongst family concerns and rumors that the Griz would be banned for post season while he was here. Fact. He also hasn’t done much while at MSU and has done NOTHING against the Griz. Fact.
Roderick: Nevada transfer you reference. Did NOTHING while at MSU, NOTHING. You bringing up his name hurts your argument. You also have none of the facts related to his decision, but I’ll leave that alone.
Bignell: Has been a Bobcat since he was about 7 years old. Great player.
Daum: Butte kid you reference. I’ll leave this one alone out of personal respect, but Stitt didn’t “run him off”. You are really, really reaching on this one.
And again, please explain why the Griz continue to dominate the Cats despite losing the in state recruiting battle and their “swagger”. You make zero sense with this.
I’ll give you credit for trying to come up with a couple of names, despite making a HUGE reach with this post. You too have some decent football insight, but then you bury yourself with this type of drivel, and then just dig your heels in despite being dead wrong.
Keep spinning my man.
Look dude, you are one spinning the fact that MSU did not sign a Gatorade player the entire time Hauck was head coach, yet they got two of them afterwards. And YES, we badly wanted both of them. You keep making excuses about why the Cats got kids we wanted, but that is lame-assesd. The facts are that they got them, and we didn't. It doesn't matter as to the reason why. Stop accusing me of spinning, when I just exposed your nice little spin job. And, like I figured, you would tell us that the kids turned out to be busts, which is TOTALLY irrelevant to the recruiting discussion. We wanted them, and they would have been busts here too!
And, for the 5th or 6th time, I don't need to provide more that 3-4 players, because it is all about getting the BEST Montana kids, not the most. Bottom line is, we used to get the kids we wanted, and the Cats got the leftovers. It hasn't been that way now since Hauck/Paulsen left. I hope that it returns, but I 100% stick by my contention, and two current Griz position coaches agree with me!

I have never claimed to be an "insider", nor ever want to be. I play golf a lot, as do many Griz coaches. I also played golf with basketball coaches too, including Wayne.
There is no freakin' way I am gonna expose the names of the coaches I know. You must be smokin' left handed cigarettes if you expect me to throw these folks under the bus like that.
Is Dilly a take-off on Brinty, Raidery? Cute.

Cant we all just agree to start worrying about this issue or perceived issue when it actually starts to affect us....i.e the cats actually beat us more than twice a decade????

Don't come in late on the discussion and add your lame 2 cents when you don't even know what the discussion is about. I totally understand that Brekke is a bust. That does not change the fact that we wanted him badly, and the Cats out-recruited us for him. There have been plenty of hyped Montana high school players who turn out to be busts.
