1. Refs-enough said, see other threads

2. Qvale-I was very impressed with him again last night. Looks to be a completely different player than last season. Looks to be a 1st team All Big Sky player right now! A couple of his fouls I REALLY did not agree with.

3. AJ-Just did not get to the line like he usually does. Other than that, played well.

4. Cherry-looked shaky at the start. Came back in and played well. That was a huge game for him to build on in his young tenure here for the Griz. Hit his first two FT in one and one situations, but missed those two down the stretch that were key.

5. Several 3's that rattled out that obviously would have been huge. Was very pleased with our performance, up 2 with 2:40 to go on their floor...got to take that against a top 15 ranking! Still a little down today because we had them and it got away from us. Too many turnovers. A win their would have been huge for seeding if we get to the Big Dance!!!!

Thoughts, elaborations?

Almost one hell of a weekend for Griz Athletics......

I don't know much about hoops, shit I was a wrestler. But I've been following the Griz for years. I may not know much, but I saw some real bad calls against the Griz. And hardly any calls on UW. Enough about that.
Qualle (sp) is a damn force on the floor, and this Griz team is quite good, and is one of the better teams I've seen. Granted, UW didn't shoot well, but some of that was just due to very hard work on D for the Griz.
Even without the Refs, the Griz very well could have had that game in hand if it weren't for some very dumb, inexplicable turnovers. Sure Cherry (sp) is a frosh, I believe, but he had some definate frosh mistakes, that did hurt is overall performance.
Heck, just take away the inexplicable turnovers and the Griz win this game. The rest of the turnover are just normal turnovers that you see every game.

Anyway, a great effort by a pretty darn talented Griz team. I wish them luck the rest of the season, and will definately be in the stands at some home games to support them.

man SO CLOSE TO SWEEP OF THE PAC 10 !!!!
i hate moral victories.. but we almost pulled it out !

I agree with you all...without a few dumb turnovers..we would have won easily.

Good fundimental basketball ..good passes, not forcing it..being smart out there that is the name of the game.

after last nights game...here are the worst to the best... Turnover per minutes played

fyi.. in defense of AJ..he does have a positive assist to TO ratio.

I really like the fact that Qvale has a high number here. Big men can get caught with turnovers pretty easy, but he looks to be taking good care of the ball. Qvale is really looking good this year and showing all the promise when he got to Missoula!!!

1st of all, as far as I am concerned the GRIZ WON that game. The refs determined at least 10 point swing in score. Officially it is a L, but let me say "the GRIZ won". This game showed everyone they belong and will be a force in BSC play this year, if they stay healthy.

I am convinced AJ, Cherry, Selvig, and Qvale are all legitimate better than average talents that could play for most teams in the nation. Too bad we cannot yet see what Selvig can due, and he is a year away from being completely healthy with successful surgery and rehab. In BSC terms we have the most depth in the conference, in national terms we are a couple players short on depth. WE are one true big man short in depth and 1 combo swing player to consistently have a 50/50 chance of beating top 25 teams. Next year with Selvig, Qvale, and a strong/healthy Hutchison we may have the bigs covered. As for guards we need more than Cherry next year (we are losing AJ). I have faith Young will mature like Matthews did for us. I feel our other guards are solid, but we need 2 more great sg's or sf's.

As for the Washington game, great game GRIZ, build off a great effort that should have resulted in a W. Will Cherry, What a break out game! Good luck rest of the season GRIZ!
