@billingsgriz I actually think WaGriz is expandable to 35k. Before the east side expansions, the total capacity for the stadium was 23,692. The 2008/2009 expansion was initially supposed to be about 3k seats (basically from endzone to endzone) but the decision was made to cut the number of seats back to only 1.5k, which puts us at the 25,217 we have now. If we had added the full 3k seats, official capacity would currently be 26,717. Now add an expansion with similar number of seats on the east side, you're looking at just under 30k right there without the south end zone expansion. And then if you were to expand the south end zone, you could probably get another 4k there as well. Add standing room only, and you'd have 35-36k fans in that stadium.

I like your analysis, get-em, and should that west-side expansion happen full scale like you've described, probably the biggest positive unintended consequence to that expansion, is WA-GRIZ @ 28,000 capacity becomes even more enclosed, and even a louder, more antagonistic stadium for our opponents !!!

Add in the SEZ seats, seating capacity jumps to 31-32,000 seats approximately, and our opponents are really going to dread coming to WA-GRIZ even more so than now--disposable ear plugs sales at the stadium will, pardon the pun, boom !!! And the sprinkles on the frosting of our WA-GRIZ cake would be after or before doing the SEZ expansion, going back to the east side like you described, if possible, and adding those 1,500 additional seats we didn't add on in the original 2009 Majestic Plaza expansion.

How fricking cool would it be in 10-15 years to have the # 37 flag hoisted before a game @ WA-GRIZ in front of 37,000 screaming GRIZ fans ?
