UM Sells Out Season Tickets for First Time Ever

I was told by the bar in Billings that Griz fans are FED UP with the ticket prices and are tired of Bobby Hauck and his press conferences and are going to stop going to games unless something changes.
The bar can talk? That's impressive...even for Billings.

They aren't going to be able to get tickets, so they don't have to "stop" going to games. People like this are neggies and complainers. The program is better off without them. Good riddance.

I could not agree more. Good riddance! This shows the true resilience of Griz nation.

A decade plus of mediocrity, and they sell out season tickets. No one can ever accuse Griz nation of being front runners, especially coming off last year’s disaster.

The GRIZ "decade of mediocrity" was every bit as good as the decade your bubs put up. But I suspect you knew that.

How's the weather over your way?

God you are a turd. Anytime somebody says something your delicate fandom can't take you pull the "bubs" card. I graduated from UM (played here for a year), have lived in Missoula ever since, and have been a season ticket holder for 27 years. GSA member for the entirety of that time, and a long-time GSA board member way back when. Long time QB club member. I also, unlike guys like you, don't bury my head in the sand and recognize realities of the program. Is that "bubs" enough for you?

.....and for the "weather" thing, I think you missed the sarcasm. I started a couple of joke threads, poking fun at how obsessed Griz fans on here are with the weather during the playoffs. Not surprising, it went over your head and you use that dumbass comment every time you respond to me.

You pose an interesting point. Criticism isn’t really welcome on the board and often it is warranted. Was it a decade of mediocrity? I think you can make an argument that it definitely was. Multiple causes and the Griz still played for a natty and thumped the kittens a few times. That’s just not what fans expect of the program. Deep playoff runs will only do. The fan base certainly weathered the storm and are very resilient. Fans go for the total game day experience anymore. It’s going to cost me a pretty penny this year to get my family to a game. Well worth it. I will support the program regardless their performance this past year. Doesn’t mean I won’t bellyache about it.

Point on the doll where the bad man hurt you. You’re safe now, okay. 👌

Hmmm...regarding that whole "missed the sarcasm thing"....

I think it would be great if we could at some point make the east bleachers mirror the west, complete with the additional deck and indoor seats with a deck built on top of the plaza for the press and coaches boxes or place those boxes in the middle 🤔 or both in the middle at the beginning of the new addition and on top of the indoor plaza seating.

And is it feasible further down the road to do something like the NEZ expansion in the SEZ ?

Just like when the NEZ was expanded in 2003 and the plaza added over the existing west bleachers in 2009, the design, engineering and construction would have to be carefully choreographed and scheduled to complete the construction before the opening home game of the following season--it's not like we can afford to spend a season @ Dornblaser or MHS Stadium out at Big Sky HS--we simply can't afford to do that !!!

With the mirror expansion of the east bleachers to look like the west, that should take WA-GRIZ official stadium capacity up to 26,700-27,000 ( +1,500 to + 1,800 more seats).

Do they have a stadium expansion planned?
Its in the master plan to redo the east bleachers but that would probably lessen seats, so the other end zone would be built at some point now. Right now there is some construction thats going to add some seats in the north end zone. Not a ton, but a little more for now.

More season ticket holders than the litterbox has seats.

Love it
Hey was thinking of you guys the last couple days with all the rain as I saw pictures of the Cats practicing in our new indoor facility. Hopefully the griz didn't feel too.....deflated....to be practicing out in the rain.... 😉

Thanks for your heart-felt, genuine and sincere thoughts, but please remember, we're not little, puny anemic shi__y kitties that can't stand the water and getting wet but big, strong grizzly bears that love getting wet--better trout and salmon fishing !!!

And your Shi__y Kitties 😸 and fans like you have more immediate, pressing worries than the status of ouir bubble, like the need to urgently get prepared to get really metaphorically if not literally, actually wet in the duck pond known as Autzen Stadium tomorrow because The Oregon Ducks are getting ready to pour a lot of almost unlimited amounts of cold water all over your SK's on Saturday in a Shi__y Kitty 😺 beat down and drowning of your little drenched kitty cats 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ in Eugene by a bunch of ducks, " Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty .... Quack, Quack : (. !!! "

Go Ducks !!!

You are backwards. It's the east side that is done and the west side that needs help.

Pretty much with a few differences like the press boxes, same -same. I think 🤔 most GRIZ get what I'm saying--an expansion on the west side of WA-GRIZ mirroring the east side could add another 1,500-1,800 seats, taking official seating to 26,700 to 27,000, and if we want to add more than that further down the road, we need to study the possibility of expanding the SEZ in the same exact or at least in a similar manner to the NEZ, and should that happen, we're looking at WA-GRIZ jammed full of 30,000 souls come Saturdays in the fall.

@billingsgriz I actually think WaGriz is expandable to 35k. Before the east side expansions, the total capacity for the stadium was 23,692. The 2008/2009 expansion was initially supposed to be about 3k seats (basically from endzone to endzone) but the decision was made to cut the number of seats back to only 1.5k, which puts us at the 25,217 we have now. If we had added the full 3k seats, official capacity would currently be 26,717. Now add an expansion with similar number of seats on the east side, you're looking at just under 30k right there without the south end zone expansion. And then if you were to expand the south end zone, you could probably get another 4k there as well. Add standing room only, and you'd have 35-36k fans in that stadium.

I heard that most of the funds are being raised by the Tetanus Club.
You'll hear it said that things like this are caused solely by a little deferred maintenance on campus.

Don't be fooled, my friends. Rust like
this can only be caused by the unhealthy, destructive vapors emanating from the Shit Pond.
