At what price point? At the original game ticket price? Probably 28-29k total. At the increased prices. Maybe 27k

I stayed away from price point, leaving it up to the individual to determine. You covered both ends of the spectrum well. I was thinking +5,000 - 10,000.

I count 46 tickets left. Looks like some have now been reduced to a bargain price of $219 plus fees but there are still a few left right above the field at $289 plus fees. They have sold about 20 since 4:45pm yesterday.

I checked around lunch time and they were 6 seats left. They had also dropped the price again to $150 plus fees.

I'm sorry, a government school shouldn't be gouging the public for tickets.
I respect UM athletics being as self supporting as possible, especially when so many other schools don't even bother.
But gouging a taxpayer who funds a shit ton more than athletics at UM is a bad message.

This needs to come up next time UM is crying poverty at the Legislature.

Hmmm, which begs the question: Should a "government school" be supporting football teams? Personally, I'm glad there are people willing to pay that fare . UM and the athletic dept will benefit. Enjoy the spectacle.

I don't think they are "gouging" I think they are offering fair market price. Capitalism; you sell what you have to sell for the price that the buyer is willing to pay. Nobody ever bought a thing that was too expensive, because if it was you wouldn't have been able to buy it.

If people will pay the price, why not?

Did um release fewer seats to MSU this year? It seems that these seats are generally part of the MSU block.

Incorrect. MSU only gets the section next to this and a little bit of the corner. These are normal south end zone seats. MSU of course presold out their allotment. These seats are usually held for the university for backup. If alumni or other special request personnel ask for seats, they always keep some until last minute. They then release what is left. They may have also kept a block to try and keep pushing the marketing of the game. Also they lowered the price back down I see to like 150 and fees.

Then I must have got the wrong tickets the last couple times I attended.

They definitely did and while I can’t blame them, I assume we’ll return the favor next season.

Or they were returned unsold buy msu and that’s why they were released so late?

No, they sold out on the first day. I’m the 2nd tier for tix and have never had an issue and this year the allotment didn’t even make it to the 2nd tier. I had to really work to get the 8 I’ve been able to get every other year.

I don’t know if it’s related or what the hell happened but the ticket situation at the game today was an absolute nightmare. I had 4 tix on my phone and 4 tix physically. After waiting in line to get in for over 40 minutes, it only got worse. 2 of the 4 on my phone didn’t scan, and 2 of the 4 physical didn’t scan. So 15 minutes to kickoff I got to walk through the champions center and down to ticket office. It was packed because I wasn’t alone.

After about 15 minutes the awesome lady in the booth printed me 4 new tickets. She was awesome considering all the people with ticket issues. So I get to my seats with about 7 minutes to go in the first. And wouldn’t you know it, people were in our seats! When I showed them my tickets, they showed me theirs and they were the same. So I walked up to the concourse and watched from there. Your old coach don holst was up there and I had a great talk with him. Although obviously very frustrated.

At halftime I decided to venture back to the ticket office. I explained the new situation and about 15 minutes later they gave me 4 more tickets, not together. So I wandered back in and watched the cats get their asses kicked solo without my wife or friends I traveled with. It was an awful afternoon.

All that said, I was very happy with everyone working and attending the game. Staff did what they could, though I have never seen such a cluster just trying to enter a stadium. But everyone was super friendly and both the ladies at the gate as well as ticket office were awesome. In fact the older lady thanked me for coming and gave me a hug when I left the game and apologized for what an unorganized mess it was! She was fantastic.

Apologies for the novel. It was just so odd this year. Not being able to get tickets, the MSU “section” being about a third griz fans which has never happened, tickets not scanning, and then tickets being oversold. Someone somewhere really screwed it up this year.

As did the cats….. :(

That's awful, and I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

The ticketing situation is untenable. They are going to have to do something this offseason because it has been terrible all year, spared in the middle games only by the fact that the stadium wasn't anywhere near capacity.

Damn, that sucks. Unfortunately, I’ve heard several people have had tickets not scanning issues this season. In fact Hammer texted today and said they had to go to the ticket office because of their tics wouldnt scan either. Hopefully they iron out the glitches before next season. As far as people getting tickets with the same exact seats that’s just f’d up.

Totally. It was a bummer. But like I said everyone working was just great. Obviously nothing they could do and not their fault. One of the ladies in the ticket office was in tears with about 30 fans in line with the same issues. And I missed the flyover. :(

Can you imagine how pissed I would be if I actually missed the cats playing well today?! As it was my 45 minutes and two trips to the ticket office just saved me from watching horrendous offense and special teams.

Griz played great today.

Kind of been a $hit $how all season. New system, digital and printed tickets, terribly understaffed. We've been skipping a lot of the tailgating and getting to our seats early just to make sure. Sorry for the rough experience ILTC. That being said was good to see some friends from that side of the state even if they are cat fans, and your band was awesome. Even after the game they hung around, played back and forth as well as danced with the griz band. We did have one drunk griz fan in our section that was aggressively getting in the faces of some of your fans before the game even started, and many got on him right away and a few griz fans next to him stepped in between him and ushered him out and away. Most everybody was cordial and had a good time.

Without question. Even with the ticket nonsense I had a great time like I always do. Have never had any issues. Saw some drunk idiots from both sides like I always do but I don’t get caught up in that stuff. Leaving the game I had a lot of thanks for coming comments and a few FTC’s. All good by me, it’s part of it!

Appreciate the fans and hospitality like always. Had a great Friday night and a nice dinner tonight but after a long day just decided to hang in the hotel this evening. Looking forward to heading home and praying we get a miracle on offense or I won’t have to worry about going to many more games this season!

Good luck in the playoffs.

I think the Griz and Cats will do well in their first playoff matchups. Their defenses will keep them in the games or win it for them both. It’s when we get to the quarters and semis and see the likes of JMU, NDSU, Villanova, SHSU that I’m gotta get worried that the offenses won’t be able to produce enough. For Eastern I think it’s the opposite. Their O will carry the day, but not sure the have the D to get some of the upper tier teams. Hopefully, there are some Big Sky teams still standing after the Semis. No clue how Sac State will do.

That sucks ILTC. As others have said there have been problems all year long with the new system. By the 6th home game you would think this would be fixed.
