ANACONDA - The Anaconda girls' basketball team's efforts to win a third straight Class A state championship took a big hit over the weekend, when senior guard Torry Hill suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Hill, who has committed to play basketball at the University of Montana, learned Monday that she has a torn ligament in a knee. Doctors told Hill it'll be three to six months before she can play competitively again.
Hill averaged 27 points per game for the Copperheads. She was injured Saturday during a game with Hamilton.
Coach Maury Cook says the team has been winning by an average of 20 points, so it'll need the rest of the players to come up with an additional 10 to 12 points to continue their winning ways. Hill says she'll continue to support the team at practice and during games.
