UM / ISU

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Strait coming through in the clutch. We finally executed in closing seconds. How in the hell did ISU rebound a missed FT. Things like that can cost a team the game. Thank God Strait hit the 2. Missing the FT actually was beneficial, no time to go full court for a game tying 3. Good job GRIZ!!!!

Sorry, refuse to post tonight until the game was final.

Yeahhh baby....now it is Griz time .....going to have a baked potato!and another brew....nice win Griz....tourney time...Griz time!

Thanks Montana. Now if MSU does the same Tuesday, EWU makes the tourny and may face the Griz in the first game...

so glad to have this game won......strait comes through with the game winner and blocked shot....YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

boy do i wish i were you. I have to:
- Research and write about a 7 page outline on a federal shield law
- write up a 2 page brief on a supreme court case
- design a sample frontpage of a newspaper.

i still know everyone misses college... yeah, i'll be the one in the front row, trashed to bajesus come saturday.

Mr Mayes! keep cleaning glass ...all tourney long! seeeeya idaho st...man there was a bunch of bs at season mid-season!.ahhhhh...GO Cats? Eliminate this group!

GO NCU BEARS!! hahaha.

I'm a little torn about it, if UM gets the bye then we won't have 1 more home game.

Congrats Griz on a gritty win.

Actually, the WSU game has no affect on the Cats.

They need UNC to beat NAU, and then ISU to lose both of their remaining games to get a home game.

I thought that is we beat ISU tomorrow we host PSU.

I did not do the math but I got this directly from someone at MSU

1. UM to beat ISU
2. WSU to beat suc
3. Beat ISU.

We need all three of these to happen, if not, we do not host.

Nope. The tiebreaker that Big Sky posted lists UNC over NAU as a must for the Cats to host.

It looks like BigSkyConf.com pulled their scenario PDF. Perhaps they had it wrong.

MSU holds a tie-breaker over PSU since they beat WSU and PSU didn't (from what I can gather).

So all MSU has to do is beat ISU. (Although this contradicts what BSC posted earlier)

Hopefully the griz will play MOTIVATED basketball....

Good stats on a team win tonight.

Hasquet gets the double-double 13 boards 17 points
17 points and 4 assists for Cam
12 points, 7 boards for Strait
13 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals for Stu

The big difference in tonights win (statistically) was the Griz grabbing the rebounds on offense (18 compared to ISU's 8).

First, MSU and PSU split the head to head series. If WSU loses, then they would have the same conference record as NAU. In a tiebreaker scenario WSU and NAU are considered to be in a tie for first place. Both PSU and MSU have 1 combined win against the TWO first place teams. Because of that it goes down to the 3rd place team (UM). PSU spit with them, and MSU got swept, hence MSU needing Weber to lose tonight.

Is that too complicated for you?

Who caught Tinkle's postgame interview. I took 2 very positive things from it.

(1) The last play in OT that won the game for us. Tinks said originally was going to call for 2 high posts with Ellis handling the ball. Then he thought that ISU defense would all be focusing Ellis handling the ball, making for tough jumper or no open lanes to get the ball in good position. He changed his mind to go with the unexpected in having Rundles handle ball, and trust him to make the right decision or create for himself. Turns out Tinkle was right, ISU did not expect anyone other than Ellis to handle the ball, in turn giving Rundles an open lane to get the ball to Strait. Strait was the 1st option too. That to me was a sign of learning from past games as a coach. GREAT JOB in playcalling, execution, and outcome. :thumb:

(2) Nearing the end of regulation Tinkle said he was trying to go with offense and defense situational switches. He had planned to put Dlouhy back in for Mayes. Dlouhy politely told Tinks his shot was and is not there tonight. Dlouhy told Tinks to stick with Mayes, Dlouhy thought Mayes was the better person to have in there tonight. I heard this, and was positively shocked anyone would be that honest and sacrifice like that. :thumb: :thumb: to Dlouhy for being unselfish and putting the team 1st. It took until the last regular season game, but finally, much needed SR leadership and unselfishness that makes or breaks a team!!! Thank you MATT, that in my book is STEPPING UP and leading. That kind of attitude alone should benefit the GRIZ in the BSC, and be huge toward every player believing in one another and buying in.

Granted it was a close game again, but this fan cannot be anymore happy with tonights outcome and how it played out. :thumb: :thumb: for Mayes and Hasquet on the boards. Unbelievable. That game was a true indicator how much a difference the "little" things make a big difference.

Can't believe I fell Asleep. I was going to listen but that sleep thing got the best of me! Good win for the Griz, three games away for three in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lakers won tonight again behind 35 from the REAL MVP

Good night overall
