UM hosts EWU (Thursday Jan. 26th)

I have to admire the EWU coach. He has developed players and a desire to win. Football, basketball, EWU is getting some solid coaching staffs. Now, the top two scorers for UM are not in the game and the announcer won't give a reason but that is no excuse for losses like this at home.

Whatever happened that caused Rorie and Wright to sit I am confident there was a good reason behind it. I trust Coach Decuire to make the right decisions for this team and young men. Remember we are in the BSC we just have to get our rhythm back before the tourney. We can still recover and play as we should and win the BSC tourney

Idaho should be tired Saturday. Currently in 2OT in bzn.

I too impressed with speed, quicks, defensive discipline of EWU. Their tenacity won the night. That in Cheney land getting it done.

The absence of our explosive pair outside a mystery, coulda used them tonight.

Seems to be a pattern developing with regard to Griz athletic programs. :(
Looking at the remaining schedule and the way the Griz are playing, I can't disagree with that and figure they will end the regular season at 13-18, and a win in the tourney is not looking good right now. But, who knows? I do know if GFeller and Morehead don't hit shots, things are not going to be smooth for UM.

It actually is. Take the top 2 players away from any Big Sky team and they're in trouble in any game against a middle of the pack or top Big Sky team and probably struggle against even the bottom few Big Sky teams.

How would Eastern do without Bliznyuk and Wiley?
How would UND without Hooker and Crandall?
How about Weber without Senglin and Cody John?

When 40-50% of your scoring is done by your top 2 players, and somewhere around 60+% of your scoring is either done by them or assisted by them (like it is for all of those teams listed) and they're both sitting the game out, your entire team changes drastically.

It's not time to go all full blown emo yet and toss aside the season as a loss. You predict they'll end up 13-18, so that means you think the Griz will drop another home game and will not win any of the remaining road games? That seems a bit overly pessimistic.

Looking at the rest of the schedule I'd guess the Griz will finish more along the lines of 11-7 or 12-6 in conference as long as Wright and Rorie are back for the rest of the games. That goes out the window of course if they're out for more games. I hope they're back for Idaho.

Guess we'll see.

Well, all were back tonight against Idaho, a bad team, and UM lost....looks bad for UM this season and I am getting to old to keep hoping for next year. Lots wrong with this team, and UM athletics in general. Maybe a move down IS appropriate.

One of the stupidest comments on eGriz ever...congrats.
Hey, whatever you say. But, with the somnolent crowds, lack of student support, bad play, losing record, and annual, "wait till next year", I don't see much success in maintaining the status quo. Either you are all in, and that means more money for recruitment, better academics, both of which need tax dollars and donors, and more exciting environment, or you become the Fresno State of Montana. Local support but little else and not much to recommend to anyone except hunting, fishing, hiking, and skiing...So, moving Down, might be better than struggling to be mediocre.

IF that would result in high academics and research and a medical school, that would be a great idea.

I wouldnt give up athletics to have a subpar medical school. Would you really want that?

LA would because he isn't a real Griz fan. It just gives him something to bitch about while drinking his martini.
