UM has top players transferring in, Cats have top players transferring out

Cats played a harder regular season than the gris. Check sos stats before playoff selection, turns out Butler, d2, and Utah Tech aren’t very good.
Jesus. griz eek out a couple squeakers, the Cats lose a couple squeakers, and the griz beat the Cats and all of a sudden the griz are dominant again. November can't get here soon enough - time to restore the rightful order and show once again who owns this state! For any griz fans thinking the Cats are going to get thumped at home..... not going to happen.

You started a thread after the 2022 Brawl titled "Will the Griz beat the cats again?" lmao you're not one to talk.

Dude not regular season. Not even close
Sorry to burst your bubble, but according to Massey, and even including Ferris State, the average strength of schedule for teams outside SDSU, Idaho, NDSU, Sac, and each other on each team's schedule for Montana was 55.25 and MSU's was 57.8.

So unfortunately you did, indeed, have the easier schedule.

According to HERO sports, who used Massey, the cats had the 7th toughest schedule and the gris were 31st.

Are you really this stupid?

We were specifically talking about the rest of both teams schedules excluding the common opponents. HERO included SDSU in your schedule, but not in ours, so of course you'd be stronger for that, but you were arguing that outside of SDSU, NDSU, Idaho, Sac, and each other, your schedule was harder.

It wasn't.

I was talking about the gris vs cat’s regular season schedules. Why would I be talking about anything else

The Griz won all but 1 game until the championship, and beat all good teams until the championship. The Cats lost 4 games, lost to every good team they played, got crushed by the Griz, and got beat at home in the playoff round of 16 playoff. And, in the offseason, lost 3 all-conference players to the Portal and their very good and important backup qb to graduation. And don't appear to have done mach in the Portal. Looks like Cats aren't improving this year.

Because you don't get to pick and choose your games for SOS. Your argument is basically that the Cats played SDSU in regular season (and lost) and Griz didn't play SDSU until the national championship game. Therefore. Cat SOS is stronger for regular season. Kid, you need to learn something about football, get some logic in your arguments, and get some smarts.

It's usually around now that I can't wait for the season to start.....
That's fair. For me, it's usually around when the clock hits 0:00 in our last game. Speaking of which, you know what would be cool? They should do a four-game mini season like they did during Covid every year. I'm sure it would be a logistical nightmare, but if they could figure it out: more revenue; keeps fans interested; try out some new players; and maybe reduce portal entries. I haven't really fleshed it out in my head because it just came to me, but I think it would be awesome.

Yes, the difference between the cats last year was how they played in big games. Cats struggled in big games and dominated in easy ones. Gris played great in big games but struggled in easy ones. The four teams the cats lots to ended up being the in top 6 teams in the country. As I explained anyone who left to the portal was filled in by transfers and players who were injured last year.

Chambers in my opinion often hurt the cats and stalled out drives as he was the redzone qb and often ran one play, qb draw. I think without Chambers it will allow Tommy to play the whole game and keep momentum going on drives. If you check numbers, the games where one qb played almost all game, the cats did well on not stalling out. (SDSU sorta, Weber, and NDSU)

Cats got Ezekiel (UNT- ol), Eckert (Wa St- dl), Rollins (BYU- ol), and Jones (Maine- te/fb). I don’t think there will be any drop off besides Valdez (dl) but Schmidt, Eckert, Brott, and Black will 100% hold their own and the de’s will be phenomenal will Grebe, Eiden, Parsons, and Crews.
