The Foundation has set an alltime record for fund-raising, with 2 months left in the fiscal year.
So much for the doom and gloomers.
Old news. Dee my below post from 10 days ago. Do you think UM will be able to get a $11 million next year two, along with these other big ones? Great year, but probably an aberration. Guess we'll see next year.

UM is having a terrific year for donations. However, $11 million, a record, came from 1 donor, and $5 million, $2.4 million, $1.5 million, $850,000 and $800,000 came from other donors. Assume that the big donations aren't likely to be repeated in future years, but still very good effort to get them.
Don't know how athletic donations are. Because of the push to get the academic center donations locked up to start the project and efforts to push the facilities fund harder (weight/locker rooms project), athletic donations sure ought to be up. Donations are always up in years in which there are efforts for particular funds or projects. However, but for dissatisfaction involving various things, including Engstrom, athletic donations and commitments would be higher.
"The most recent gift was $5 million from an anonymous donor for scholarships.
Recent gifts to the university have included $11 million from UM alum Tom Cotter, a $1.5 million gift from alum Earle Layser, and $2.4 million from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation.
Last month, former U.S. Sen. Max Baucus contributed what remained of his campaign funds – $850,000 – to the school, and Alexander Blewett gave $800,000 in February."
"The school launched a drive in July called the Invest in Student Success Initiative with a goal of raising $45 million in three years for scholarships. The program has brought in more than $20 million in the first nine months."
