The drive before the CP's game winning drive we turned the ball over on downs with 1:17 to play when our OC elected to put a linebacker in at running back on fourth and 1 and he didn't make. Our only first down on that drive was thanks to a CP penalty. We acquired the ball because our defense recorded a safety to get us a 19-17 lead with about 3:30 to play forcing CP to kick it back to us.horribilisfan8184 said:UMGriz75 said:The defense did as good as anyone did in the conference and outside the conference. The Offense did not. The Offense did very poorly against Cal Poly compared to CP's other matchups. That's simply a reality.BornGrizz said:He lost the game very well. The offense lost the game. Are you trying to say that our offensive coordinator will never lead a team to a national championship? Isn't it the Offense that puts those point thingys on the scoreboard that wins games?
In the NDSU game, the Griz had the last drive. Down 4, the offense could win it or lose the game. The NDSU defense could either hold and win the game or give up a score and lose it. The defense didn't hold. The Griz offense won the game, and the NDSU defense lost it.
In the Cal Poly game, Cal Poly had the last drive. Down 2, the offense could win it or lose the game. The Griz defense could either hold and win the game or give up a score and lose it. The defense didn't hold. The Cal Poly offense won the game, and the Griz defense lost it.
Its as simple as that.
The defense forced CP to attempt at 49 yard FG by a freshman kicker in the rain after a 11 play, 36 yard drive. But, yeah, continue trying to blame the defense.
