UM Dance Team Best in Albuqueque

MGR's below post in another thread, quoting some non-UM fans in attendance, reminded me that I had wanted to start a thread on this subject.

"Too bad the GRIZ lost, we were wanting to see your cheerleaders again." "Now that you lost, can we borrow your cheer team?" "The GRIZ cheerleaders were by far the hottest there." "Are there a lot of women that look like your cheerleaders?"

I am not joking, our cheerleaders made quite an impression on males on other fan bases. In honor of our cheer team. They made SI."

The UM dance team was the best, both in terms of performance and looks, of the 8 dance and/or cheer squads represented in Albuquerque. There were a couple others that were decent, or athletic, but none as good or good-looking as UM's.

UM's dance team also performed at half-time of the Griz game, and performed very well. I don't think there were any performances at half-time of the other 3 games.

The dance team is very talented and good. Megan, their leader, has done a very good job. Perhaps Christy still assists some too.

Note that UM sends the dancers to post-season hoops events, and the cheer squad to post-season football events. I think the ncaa rules limit dance/cheer squads to 12, but don't know for sure.

The UM band was also good.

Congrats! You represented Montana very well.

This was the best looking group of Sugar Bears that I can remember in the 20 years that I have been paying attention.

I agree about the UM Dance Team looks good. :thumb: And they make UM look good!

This is a timely post as I just recently caught a quick glimpse showing of the NCAA Cheerleading/Dance National Championships on ESPN. The North Dakota State Dance Team won the National Championship in the Dance Team - Pom Division. And they placed 3rd in another Division (I believe it was Jazz). The announcers mentioned the football team's National Championship on air.

So NDSU kicked some serious a** in National Championships this season.

Those in attendance and watching the other dance teams would agree Griz gals were head and shoulders above the competition.
