Interesting. I assume that's based on the fact UND and EWU currently lead the conference at 13-4, but UND holds the head-to-head tie-breaker over EWU. Would that change if UND lost their final game and EWU won?
..... we're either going to be a 4 or 5 playing either Idaho, MSU or Weber depending on who else wins Saturday.

Hmmm....I can think of a few other teams I'd rather play. Tough matchups no matter how you slice it.

This is how the tiebreakers work:

Procedures for determining all tournamentseeding will be:

Two-team tie

Results of head-to-headcompetition (winningpercentage) during the regular season.

Each team’s record vs. the team(winning percentage)occupying the highest positionin the final regular standings, and then continuing downthrough the standings until oneteam gains an advantage.

When arriving at another group of tied teams while comparing records, use each team’s record(winning percentage) against thecollective tied teams as a group (prior to that group’s own tie-breaking procedure), rather than the performance againstindividual tied teams.

RPI Rankings

Coin toss conducted by theCommissioner or designee.

Multiple-team tie

Results of collective head-to-head competition (winningpercentage) during theregular season among thetied teams.

If more than two teams are stilltied, each of the tied team’srecord (winning percentage)vs. the team occupying thehighest position in the finalregular season standings, and then continuing down through the standings, eliminating teams withinferior records, until oneteam gains an advantage.

When arriving at another group of tied teams while comparing records, use each team’srecord (winning percentage) against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to thatgroup’s own tie-breakingprocedure), rather than the performance against individualtied teams.

If at any point the multiple-teamtie is reduced to two teams, the two-team tie-breaking procedure will be applied.

RPI Rankings

Coin toss conducted by theCommissioner or designee.

Nice win for the Griz last night, wow!

As far as the tiebreakers and seeding, 1 and 2 will be UND/EWU no matter what. Only way Eastern is #1 is if they win and UND loses, anything else and UND will be 1 seed. (damn big sky schedule didn't send UND to Cheney).

I would think Idaho is going to beat SUU saturday, so lets just say they do because SUU is last in the conference.

That leaves UM/MSU/WEBER left. Either MSU or Weber is going to lose, one team will then be a lock for a top 4 seed, the other will fall to a tie with Montana for the 5th spot (assuming the Griz win). It looks like the Griz hold tiebreakers over both WEBER and MSU due to the UND win (regardless if UND is #1 or #2), so if the Griz win, they are a lock for the 5 seed. If Idaho wins, pretty sure they would be the 4 seed and the winner of the MSU/Weber game would be the 3 seed.

I can see any of those teams winning the tourney, with UND and EWU obviously a bit above the other 4. This tells me that at least it'll be good, competitive basketball next week.

Yeah, from the qtr finals on it will be a battle. I think any one of the teams that receive a bye has a shot to win it.
