UC Regents May Not Allow UCLA Move to Big 10

Why do you think the commissioner's concern is faux?
A big reason for their leaving was due to the incompetence at the top of the PAC, they had no confidence that Kliavkoff was on a pathway to an acceptable media deal. The existing PAC Network is not even widely available. He comes off as a whiney bitch resorting to sabotaging UCLA by delegating upward to the authoritarianism so characteristic of CA. Irrespective of this outcome, how do you think that relationship is going to work out? Of course USC is a bigger loss to PAC football, but he has no openings to sabotage them. I would be surprised if the remaining members, sans Cal, respects what he is doing to a member.

The 4 corners schools have little in common with the what's Left Coast schools and might fit better into the 2025 Big 12.

West

BYU
Utah
CO
ASU
UA
TX Tech
TCU
Baylor

East

UCF
UWV
Iowa St
OK St.
Kansas
KSU
Houston
Cincinnati

The what’s Left Coast schools might have to come off their high horse and admit BSU, SDSU, Fresno St and other deplorables, which could create some openings in the MWC.

As a fan of Texas Tech and the B12 in general, I would LOVE that setup. That is also an excellent basketball conference. :thumb:

How often do you get back to Hanover for games in the fall? What I'm actually asking is how many UCLA fans actually are within driving distance of their school? What is their average attendance now?

I concede there are conferences whereby the fanbase plans for the Saturday road trips to the various venues and pack 100k stadiums. Most of those schools are in the ACC, SEC and midwest. Face it, the upper midwest and west are wastelands full of miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles. People really don't want to drive to their cabin in Big Sky anymore. The want to fly into Belrade International Airport, rent a car and make that 40-50 mile drive to their little cottage in Moonlit Basin or Big Sky.

Television is the only thing keeping west coast teams relevant and they won't be relevant if they continue to play games that don't get over until 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. on the east coast.

THERE'S the solution to this problem. As long as the team DRIVES to the Big Ten locations its OK. Make them take a school bus, no chartered flights. I assume all those figures are ONE WAAAAY. Thats 29,636 miles. Might just as well move the campus to somewhere in Kansas.

Given their attendance issues at their current site, that might not be a bad idea.

If you think 3, 4 and 5 is a couple, then yes.

There was a movement years ago to expand Drake Stadium, which is probably already mid-BSC tier, on campus in Westwood. They have the land for it, but apparently homeowners raised a stink. Would’ve been cool to have football on campus because bussing the students to Pasadena is suboptimal for attendance. Not the only show in town syndrome.
