UC IRVINE game

Timmy Falls showing what’s he’s capable of tonight. 11 points and 2 assists. He’s had a couple fantastic passes. He’s defending well and handling the ball well too.

Akoh just doesn't give up on some plays

His line so far: 18 pts, 7 boards, 3 assists

Having him as a threat to score in the paint is also opening up some shots from 3. Griz are 46% from the arc tonight.

75-55 with 3 to go

Be nice to see some of the reserves get a chance to play since the Griz have such a big lead; like to see what they can do

Amazing 4 starters finish the game
No love for “practice” players

Griz win 86-68

Falls had breakout game

I'd say Akoh did too, except he's had one or two other pretty good games leading up to this one....

Nice to see some newcomers asserting themselves as conference season gets ready to start

Do wish they've give a few more of the younger guys more of a chance to develop in real-game situations

Falls is one of the most fundamentally sound players the Griz have had in a long time. He's very good at showing defenders the ball to get them out of position. Used to be very common years ago, very seldom see it in today's game. Such a simple thing to teach, amazing how defenders respond to it.

The freshman, Akoh and Falls, are putting on a SHOW! We are seeing the future of this team. GRIZ 82-61

Akoh is not a freshman, he is junior who transferred from CS Fullerton. Great addition to the Griz.

Got to watch the game live from the first row tonight. Team looked much faster in person. What a great performance against what is supposed to be a very good team. We beat them at every aspect from the opening buzzer to the last. This is by far, to me, the most complete performance of the year. Akoh qualifies as a true post player for BSC and was very impressive tonight and Irvine was not small. Falls played great. Nicholas will be great if he continues to mature mentally and gain experience. He has big time physical ability. Oguine and Rorie played well again. Again whole team played well including Moorehead and Krslovic. I think we missed some free throws but not much to complain about.

The above post is a good starting point.

The team played very well. I think it must have been the best game of the season. The team worked hard all game. Played great D. No letdowns on either end the whole game. Great hustle. The 2 frosh contributed. Akoh just keeps getting better and better. Even with Rorie not having a great game like the past 2 home games, he played fine, and many others stepped up.

With the known strong play of the other 5, of the top 8, and the impressive contributions of the other 3, I now think this team can go along way.

Akoh either is a great player, or is damn close. He's a nice jumper. He is very strong. He has a nice outside shot. He's a very good passer. He blocks shots. He's plays smart. He's a load.

I am a believer in Rorie this year. He's improved from last year, more consistent, and doesn't take as many questionable shots. He's almost unstoppable because of his great jumper and athleticism. He runs the team nicely.

The Griiz had a nice full court press, and nice half court trapping. They were relentless. All of the guys. Big and small. Huge hustle. Very impressive. The whole game.

All of the black guys are very athletic, as is Falls. Morehead is a good defender and good player, and can shoot. He is very consistent. All of the 8 starters can rebound (I think Falls can; he can sure jump).

The Griz are just a better team than the Anteaters. Not just tonight. The Griz are a better team. Same with the prior opponent.

Free throws weren't so hot, but Akoh again shot great from the line. His shot looks nice. Rebounding good. Assists very good, and some great passes, including from Falls. Akoh is a very good passer too.

Shooting was good, and there were a lot of good shots taken. 3 shooting was only okay, except Falls was 4 for 4 from 3. He whole game was very nice tonight. I think he is going to really come on now.

One last observation. This team, including the big men and especially Akoh, has very good hands. They catch the tough passes, and scoop balls from the floor well. Also, some great hustle plays tonight by multiple players.

The whole team went into the stands after the game to pay tribute to Delvon Anderson and his family. One by one. Was very cool. And then they grabbed the kids, and took them to center court for photos of the whole team. Also cool.

Only 3100 in attendance, but a very good and appreciative crowd. This team is so fun to watch that they ought to get at least 5,000 per game.
