Tyrann Mathieu out at LSU

Great athletic ability, he was fortunate to be in a system like LSU. The play calling to get him position to effect the offensive play. However when he had to cover he alwasy had safety help, never solo
and when he was solo he got TOASTED.

I'd rather have him at safety... but his cb skills were top notch even in the SEC.

I'd love to see the video on him getting "toasted".

Until then check this video out - and pay close attention to :54, 1:28, 1:47 (He got real toasted on this one:), 1:57, 2:00, 2:13, 2:26, 2:32, 2:38.... Awe heck - just watch the whole thing. Kid has cover skills. The Championship against bamer was an anomaly for him... and he only got beat a few times in that game.

Highlights when you get a sniff in the league they watch whole game film, ALL the highlights GOOD AND BAD! I do agree he is agood athlete, it just wasn't against the BAMA that he was EXPOSED.

Probably a safety in the league but would end up like Taylor Mays great talent just a different level of ballers.

Again - I have watched almost every second of the Honey Badger's college career. It sounds like you watched him in the MNCG against bamer, and that was pretty much it. I am pretty sure he and snoop smoked a pound of bud before that game -- it was by far his worst game ever.

Did you watch his cover skills in the video above? I ain't sayin he is Neon good - but he has cover skills. And is one of the greatest playmakers I have ever seen in college. (And I really am a college football junkie)

He'd make a perfect Griz. Would fit right in. Could be your drop-down qb, too. Based on Brint's practice reports, he could beat out any of the four you have now!

Yep, you are probably right. he visited McNeese Friday night...should know something by Monday...I don't care if he comes or not...just hope he can get his act together....life is a lot longer than football.

It doesn't sound like we have any chance thankfully. This is the EXACT example of who we need to reject from consideration no matter their talent-level to prevent future embarrassments. We have been very lax in letting former problem-guys in here from D1 schools in the past:remember the home-invasion fiasco? We can take the quality drop-downs (like the Stanford QB,Joe Douglass,Ochs, Swogger,Drew Millers), but no way we let losers like "honey-badger" in here again. It will be exciting to have his talent at our level and I hope we play him and McNeese in the playoffs (why the F would he go to Prairie View?), but UM doesn't need these kind of thugs to be successful. I would like to think UM would tell this clown to find somewhere else to play if he contacted us.

What is TRULY amazing is that LSU kicked out their best player. Now THAT is integrity. Props to LSU for standing up for what's right for once.

I know he is exceptional, but he IS 5'9"! (reportedly). I doubt that there is 1 NFL starting Safety that short, and possibly no starting Safety in the league that short since Tim Hauck. No NFL team will ever consider him as a Safety. He is CB ONLY in the NFL, and will be a good one.

EDIT:For laughs I just looked up Tim Hauck's official stats at several offical football websites and he is listed at 5'10' on all of them. I honestly don't know his true height, but I have been in his prefence several times, and I towered over him. Everyone lies about heights. I doubt Honey badger is actually 5'9" and no way Timmy is 5'10", is he?

EDIT2:Just checked nfldraftscout.com site and it puts Honey-Badger at 5'8"
