What is going on in the locker room, specifically with the Oline? This is becoming a trend, Cole sain, ganoung, keintz, and there have been others in that position specifically. Is it Germer? Something doesn’t feel right about it.

For the most part, I think you are making more out of it than necessary.

I’m just wondering, not making assumptions at all. It just seems like that position group has a higher attrition rate these last several seasons. Maybe not. Again, I’m more wondering than anything else

Me too. It just seems troubling.

Agreed. These guys are getting beaten out by transfers and they can't handle it. There's nothing I hate more than guys quitting in the middle of the year.

Why? Maybe he's a chem major and has been missing 3 labs a week due to practice. They are students first, after all. Maybe has family or personal issues to deal with. Maybe he just hates football and doesn't want to do something half-assed so would rather walk away.

Hell, NFL guys hang it up midseason sometimes and for them it's their job[/i].

And it just happened.

From Hillsboro, OR; can play right at home for PSU. That is if he wants to play football.

My understanding is he plans to complete his degree and graduate this summer.

I wish him the very best! Thanks for being a Griz.
Thanks for the hard work you put in! Good luck in life beyond football. :ugeek:

Has that ever happen to you were you put in the grind for years then get put behind a transfer? It must suck if you ever what to play. Is Sain playing for Cats much and does anyone remember why he bailed?

He is listed as a back up center so probably not a lot of playing time. I think he backs up a freshman.

I’m guessing this can be directly related to the emergence of beast mode Hunter Mayginnes, WSU drop down. He earned the locker room player of the week for steam rolling last week. Kid is a stud and has taken over that spot. And he’s just a sophomore.

Like the old saying goes, If you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen!
Leaving the team because you're not playing? I thought when you didn't play you stayed around to help your teammates get better? So much for one team one fight?

the secondary everybody was happy with (until they weren't) all left teams to join montana.

What do you expect ? In these days of "I commit" means nothing, actually means "Yeah I'd play for you until something better happens" and were surprised when someone walks.
Times have changed and not for the better, thanks ncaa for nothing.

Everybody will again be happy with the secondary once Robertson returns. The pass defense took a hit when he went out. Our defensive production for the season remains very stellar, in spite of having to confront Barriere. With a lot of help from the secondary, we are tough to run against.

Agreed. It just kills me that people rave about the transfers IN, but say stuff like that when someone decides to hang up the cleats.

I have zero issues with him leaving. No matter the reason. If his heart's not in it anymore, why would you abuse your body?

Do said transfers usually quit mid season for the team they currently play for prior to transferring or do they typically play out the year then transfer?

EGriz never ceases to amaze me. When EGrizzers are talking about the team getting vaccinated they say they all must do it for the good of the team! Take one for the team they say! I said, your body your choice. I was the bad guy!
Now another guy is leaving for who knows why and I am the bad guy for stating one team one fight. Just to prove my point of all the Hypocrits on this site! Not saying AZ you said this! People can go back to that Covid threat and look who said what if they really care?

Bottom line is no matter how big of a superfan you are of a team, no one knows what's going on in these kids lives. Is it possible this guy left for the sole purpose, 100% because of lack of playing time? Sure, it's possible. And if that is the only reason, and could be proven that is the only reason, I would look at it differently.

However, if there is one thing I've learned over the years, is there is MUCH we don't know about these student-athletes. And old-timers can pretend this is a new phenomenon, but kids have been transferring and "quitting" long before this new "lazy" generation was even alive.

Especially in the last couple years, where peoples mental health has been tested like never before, I tend to give these guys the benefit of the doubt for these decisions, and assume they go much deeper than wanting a little more PT on Saturday afternoons once a week.

Sain was starting center for cats in spring but go best out by another freshman (Perkins) in fall. Then he got banged up.
