Two Significant Stats

1. This season, the Pity Kitties beat one team with a winning record (Sac State)
2. The Pity Kitties have played four road games this season, and lost two.

This isn't a stat, but it could be important for tomorrow and the future: their coach is being mentioned as a candidate for the head coaching position at Boise State. Not that he's high on the list, but A) it's a distraction and B) it has to hurt recruiting (even if he doesn't get the job, recruits think he's a short timer).

Yes, he was listed last on a fantasy list of possible candidates right after Avalos was fired. There has been nothing more since. He is not getting questions and he is totally focused on Saturday. Also, they are doing really well with recruiting. I doubt this will have any impact. They didn’t miss a beat when Choate actually left. This team is totally focused on winning tomorrow and getting back yo Frisco.

Another interesting stat is the turnover margin between these two teams. Both in the positive, but Griz stats are skewed with Vidlak’s 5 turnovers. Take those away and they are virtually even. Two very good teams when it comes to protecting the ball and winning the turnover battle. Will be interesting tomorrow. May not be many turnovers.

Here’s a little stat for you the cats have played 3 teams with winning records this year and they are 1 and 2 the griz have played 6 teams with winning records and are 6-0

It is nice to throw out all these stats but I really don’t think they mean anything when it comes to a rivalry game like this. That is why they play the game. Going to be fun.

Stats should not be used to compare the teams…because cat fans will throw this dandy out…Griz lost to NAU and cats beat them. Of course, they don’t count the idaho games the same way.

Actually now that you’re losing choate recruits, you are starting to miss some beats, like beating teams with winning records.

Now that Sac State lost to Davis today, I have to amend my first stat:
1. This season, the Pity Kitties have not beat a team with a winning record in the Big Sky Conference (although Sac State still has a winning record overall).

SAC State is 7-4 with an FBS win over Stanford, they will be in the playoffs probably.

So will Davis based on losses of some other teams I think. Big sky May get 5 in.
