I'll start by saying I'm still a fan of Stitt and think he will be a winner for us.

Saying that, this bothers me. Not a fan of putting down existing players in a dialog to recruit new players. He also needs to be smarter than to have recruiting dialog mistakenly put out to the public.

Most QBs that work on their craft and put the time in with their receivers improve and I think Brady will after having a year of experience. I think a transfer to compete is logical and is something Stitt should do if he feels it will make the team better, but he shouldn't put down kids to do that.

To those that feel like the players should have thick skin, it appears that Gustafson has shown that. However, I think any player in any era would have issue with what was said and I think any player would have issue with a coach dissing a teammate in public in that situation (unintentionally or not).

I don't know why everyone is upset. He meant to throw the player under the bus in private. He didn't mean to throw the player under the bus in public. I mean, really, he was only talking bad about Brady behind his back. Nothing wrong there unless you're a kid in school. Then that's bad. And look both ways before you cross the street.

I wouldn't say he was throwing Brady under the bus...he was relaying that his QB struggled at times and he wants more competition at the position....it is just unfortunate that a private conversation became public.....

Yeah Brady struggling had nothing to do with NDSU knowing the snap signal, completely stopping the run and abusing the offensive line.

Let's call a spade a spade. NDSU"s defense out played our offense. Secondly in the second half when we did move the ball and score what did we do but get to the red zone and try running again for the first two downs. I think responsibility falls all across the board from the coaching, play calling, and execution. Those things happen in all games. Unfortunately in this case it happened to us.

Obviously competition at all positions is necessary and I would conclude Coach Stitt feels like the level of competition at quarterback is less than desirable. I don't think he is saying Brady can't do it but Brady also needs competition at the quarterback position.

Maybe we should have some competition at the coaching level.

The Grizzly OL were often busy chasing the DL around or looking to stop the stunts from resulting in penetration, which meant that the linebackers were running free to the football. The two backers combined for 19 tackles, eleven of them by weakside backer MJ Stumpf who was regularly left alone in the box against the Grizzlies' trips formations. ...

An offensive line for an Air Raid team like the Grizzlies is generally very simple with their schemes and they don't always spend a great deal of time teaching blocking techniques and extra play wrinkles for dealing with teams that try to out-scheme the run game. Generally when they get into trouble their team is designed to pass their way out of it, but the Bison's focus on DL play and versatility up front allowed them to make hay and allowed what happened up front to impact what happened out wide.

The Bison essentially called Montana's bluff and dared them to beat them running the ball on a five man box while using stunts to eliminate their own disadvantages in taking on that challenge. Montana had no answers and their backs only had 23 yards on 15 carries.

Not a fan of "blame the player." At some point, the excuses run out of players.

He did not blame the player....he said that he played terrible....he said he wants more competition....

I find it ironic that Ash never said anything so blatantly negative about a player, yet you all jump on the "Ron" Ash bash bus with no hesitation. Stitt publicly calls out a player, a la Mike Kramer, and it's no big deal. What a joke. Stitt's a tool and his system sucks balls. Calling a spade a spade.

Does anyone else find it odd Egriz screams for these young adults to have DOLA but worry about their fragile psyches? They are grown men who demand they be treated as such. Why assume they won't suck it up and band together but will rebel with bruised egos. Too many mother figures giving opinions and advice these days. I'm optimistic knowing BG plans to embrace the challenge and elevate his game. Lookimg forward to seeing players who agree last year's results are best exceeded by next year's team

Football players are competitive. With that, there is often an ego. Same with coaches. It is a game of strong personalities. Those that don't have that, typically don't do as well. I think you have players that would handle this situation very poorly and let it discourage them and others, like Brady, who are up for the challenge and will continue to work. At least I hope that's the case...

I don't think anyone is assuming that they will throw it in because they have hurt feelings. I think coaches should be critical and tough with their players in private settings. Putting that out in the public was a bad move. Dick Butkus would have been pissed if Halas would have publicly insulted him to appeal to another player. That isn't about being motherly, it's about being professional.
