TV for ND game?

apple tv will work if you use an iPhone or iPad then use airplay apple tv doesn't have a browser..
The best stream you can get is directly hooking your tv up through hdmi. I watch a lot of streams and stream things myself.. Watching a stream right now on my 60"

The only thing that sucks is that you can't make pithy comments about the Griz coaching on the same computer while watching the game. Not that I ever do anyway...

Absolutely the truth for us in south central rural Montana. The television coverage this year has been a huge step backwards for us.

And, the best we can do for Internet is Dish satellite which means "streaming" a game is basically watching a bunch of freeze frames stuttering and sputtering.

"Cowles Montana Media" is a dirty word at our house.

Chromecast doess make it nice for browsing while watching. In the pool works there is a lot of streaming most do not recommend chrome.

I have cable Internet that is fast which helps a lot. Just for a recommendation after each quarter clear your browser cache for better performance

Another tech tip is to drink a bunch, the picture looks much better when you're soused!

While we're on the subject of local MT TV stations, can anybody get the Helena/Great Falls NBC station in HD? I've been suffering through years of shitty reception and sound on that channel through Dish.

a local Montana company (whatever Max Media of Montana is currently called now)...

Cowles Montana Media, last I heard. Could be different already.

Yes that is what it is called now.

My understanding of how it works is that in Montana, you will get the game on whichever is your local Cowels' media channel. This channel might be affiliated with NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, Etc. but the channel is owned an operated by Cowels' media.

In the past (this year), Cowels' owned games have also appeared on Altitude sports, which is a regional sports network. I would guess that Cowels sells media rights to Altitude so that people outside of the state of Montana may also view the game. When done earlier this year, the programming guide (Directv/Dish/Cable) has not shown that the game is on Altitude until the morning of the game.

Functional picture: Dish and Directv viewers outside of Montana can pay extra for a sports package that gives you access to all regional sports networks in the United States. (I do this. It costs an extra 8 dollars per month.) This may allow them to view a Cowel owned game. Inside the state, Dish/Directv customers are just like every other cable subscriber, you get the game on your local cowels' owned channel. However, if you pay for the sports package, you may have two channels that broadcast the game.

I don't have cable or satellite; just get broadcast channels in Missoula. The website for KTMF (Fox) shows they are broadcasting today's game, but the Missoulian only shows cable and satellite channels for the game. Does anyone know for sure whether it is going to be on Fox as well?

Exactly; available only on Charter.
You can get swx with rabbit ears and a digital converter box. You don't need Charter.
Rabbit ears aren't real good 40 miles away.

No good when you're 120 miles away either. My spouse volunteered to stand on the roof with the rabbit ears and a roll of aluminum foil . . . you gotta love that attitude.

Wouldn't even be so bad if the game were being replayed later on a "real" station which is what happened the last time the Griz were on the MIckey Mouse SWX channel. This time? Nothing.

I think I might just lay on the couch and watch it on my tablet. That way, when we start whooping arse, I can just fall asleep.

Was hoping to catch some of this one, but it doesn't show up on Directv. Which is strange, because I thought UND had some sort of deal with Fox. Our game with them last year was televised. Bummer.

SUX sucks.

However, for some unknown reason, streaming it through gogriz.com (cbssports) actually worked for us this week on Dish satellite internet. The picture wasn't great, and we had four or five "freeze frame" incidents that went on for two or three minutes, but it wasn't awful.

I just hope that next year when they negotiate the tv contract, the folks at UM understand that SWX means that many in Montana will never see it on television. Stinks.
