Hot damn! For those who have the DirecTV Sports Package -- like we do -- these ECE channels (788, etc.) are included. Can't confirm this right now, since they have not, in the past, shown those offerings until Thursday or Friday. Not sure if this impacts the ESPN3 online version, but I think it will still be available there.

Montana vs. Liberty game now available online and on pay-per-view

Montana fans can watch Saturday’s Montana vs. Liberty game on ESPN 3<http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index>, and on ESPN College Extra<http://espn.go.com/espncollegeextra/#schedule> it was announced today.

ESPN College Extra is a new pay-per-view college sports service that replaces the old ESPN GamePlan. ESPN College Extra is available to customers of AT&T U-verse and DIRECTV (Channels 788-799), Bright House Networks, Cox, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS and select NCTC members.

In late August, ESPN exercised its option with the Big South Conference to carry the Montana/Liberty game exclusively on ESPN 3. ESPN rolled out its new College Extra platform on September 5.

Previously, Cowles Montana Media was scheduled to carry the game. With ESPN exercising their option with the Big South Conference, Cowles became unable to show the broadcast.

Griz fans can watch the game on ESPN3 at no additional cost with an affiliated internet or video subscription.

ESPN3 is accessible to more than 99 million households nationwide online at WatchESPN.com<http://WatchESPN.com>, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Fans can listen to the radio broadcast with the Voice of the Griz, Mick Holien on the Grizzly Sports Radio Network<http://www.gogriz.com/sports/2015/3/3/GEN_2014010141.aspx> or via web stream at gogriz.com All Access<http://www.gogriz.com/watch/?Live=17>.

Live stats are also available from Liberty University’s website<http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=91154>.

Fans can also follow the action on the official Grizzly Football twitter account: @UMGRIZZLIES_FB<https://twitter.com/umgrizzlies_fb>.

A lot of Montana is rural, as am I. Rural folks can't get high speed internet with enough GB of download and watch HD telecasts of any length -- and often not even SD telecasts so EPSN3 might as well in UHD 3D because we can't get that either. If Cowles was broadcasting it then FTA satellite works but otherwise there is no other good choice. The rest of us often don't matter.

The new channels do not affect espn3. They are just putting th espn3 broadcast on a tv channel. The pack for directv users is 13.99. Its not really ppv cause you cant buy one game. Its 13.99 a month and you can cancel at anytime.

Yep. I know people who will sign up for a month just to get one or two games, then not renew for awhile. (You have to watch them on that, because they often have it set up to auto-renew. ;) )

Maybe it is early and so the schedule has not been updated but I checked WatchESPN (which is how you view ESPN3 programs if you are a Dish customer like me) and I don't see it listed.

ESPN realizes that the Griz are a major money maker for them, so once again they screw us! They think so lowly of the FCS that we can't even get a pregame show for the opening weekend game, but they think enough of it to not let it be broadcast on local TV in Montana? Hmmm....Thankfully we have a kindle, and Iphone, so I can watch it, no watch ESPN app on the PS4 as far as I know. I am sure it will be on at the Halftime here in Great Falls as well.

Ah, ok, had the wrong filter set. I see I there at 7PM (EDT).

On other thing, I found this in the WatchESPN FAQ:

Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Android mobile users who do not subscribe to an affiliated video provider will have access to ESPN.com video on demand clips only.

I don't know if this will affect access to the game for some people.

If you or your kid has an Xbox One, you can download the ESPN app and watch the game on ESPN 3 using the Xbox as well.
