Turning Point in the Season - Your Thoughts?

I’m over at my parents house for Thanksgiving. They don’t get a whole lot of tv so we are watching the Griz game vs UC Davis. Fontes circus catch for a TD in the 2nd quarter was part of the Griz turning their season around. McDowell scrambled out of a sure sack and threw a great pass. Fontes made an amazing diving, one-handed catch. And then Fontes caught another long TD right before halftime. It gave us the lead and you could tell lit a fire under the offense. Haven’t looked back! Now time to finish.

What does everybody else think?

I believe you are correct. Cliff got his shot, took the reins and the team stepped up together. Confidence that they had a leader at QB. Sure seems like that game was a turning point after the stinker in Az.

2nd half vs idaho state. First half was zero energy, brutal. Clif came in 2nd half, junior had a big return to set up another score, and boom, it's been a different team since. GO GRIZ

The turning point was when somebody posted on egriz that image of our o-line wandering around aimlessly against Northern Arizona, followed by the savage beat down Hauck and this team took on this board. It’s been all daisies and sunshine since that nightmare week.

The offensive lineman wondering around has a serious case of vertigo. I think lots of fans misunderstood the situation and judged it pretty harshly.

Again…IN HINDSIGHT. For all intents and purposes, it looked like he quit. Mid game. Along with a couple others. I feel for the kid and hope he hasn’t played his last down for the Griz, but knowing what we knew THEN, the anger and disappointment was justified. Just glad they righted the ship and are sitting where they’re sitting now.

The off sides on the Idaho onside kick that looked to be recovered by Idaho. They had all the momentum and it looked as if the Griz would lose until the penalty was called. If they lost that game, the rest of the season may have played out differently.
