TSN's Projection

Big Sky is head and shoulders above the Southland. Sam Houston has certainly lost a lot of steam in the last couple of games for some reason. SELA is a good team, as is McNeese. Big Sky has two teams that will be seeded, and a third who could make a case. A weird loss today is keeping Southern Utah out of the playoffs, which would have given the Big Sky four teams in. Had MSU beat UM today, and SUU beaten NAU we could have seen five teams in. CAA isn't down this year, but the teams are beating the hell out of each other.. only team to survive the beatings was Maine. CAA had 8 of 11 teams at .500 or better. Stony Brook was a 5 OT loss vs Buffalo from being the 9th at .500 or better.

Well the 3rd best team in the Southland beat the piss out of EWU.

And there are only 3 teams with a winning record in that conference. Btw 15 pts isn't "beating the piss" out of someone, just saying.

Might be referring to the 54 runs that churned out 450 rush yards by SHSU. 8+ yds per run.

Thanks DC, as I didn't realize that. Just my opinion but I think the committee would look at the score more then game production. Again, my two cents.

Outlier, not a representation.

Nothing at all against the GRIZ, but please explain to me how they will get a top 8 seed when they finished 3rd in the BSC?

Bc how you finish in the conference doesn't overly matter to the committee. It's the body of work, the ranking, the GPI and so on.

If I were to take a wild guess, I'd say

1. NDSU
2. Eastern Ill
3. EWU
4. Maine
5. Montana
6. South Eastern Louisiana
7. McNeese
8. NAU

We'll, Maine lost today, so that logic is probably gone. And why would the committee put NAU BEHIND THE GRIZ when the GRIZ lost to them and NAU was 9-2 with a loss to an FBS school and beat the GRIZ??

GPI has the Griz 5th and NAU 12th or something, Sagarin ratings much higher for the Griz too. We actually played the conference champs where NAU didn't. Tougher schedule for the Griz overall.

Ok, go with that logic chief, but head to head competition is what the committee looks at first. Keep wishing. Also, you do know the TSN Rankings mean nothing going into the selection process. If the GRIZ do get ranked, it will an 8, but I still don't think it will happen, to soft of a non conference schedule.

Why wouldn't the committee put the Griz AHEAD OF NAU when NAU got demolished by MSU, who the Griz just beat and now have a 10-2 record?

He's just hoping against hope. Haters gonna hate.

So Sam Houston is going to be seeded ahead of EWU then?

And MSU ahead of NAU... and Stephen F. Austin ahead of MSU... and Weber gets the seed above SFA... Hm... We may need to expand the number of teams in the playoffs again...

Anyway, all silliness aside, yeah head to head matters somewhat, but so do a LOT of other things that can trump head to head when there are significant differences such as strength of schedule, GPI and combinations of all that good stuff.

I have no idea where the Griz will end up though. Only ones I'm pretty damn sure about would be #1 NDSU and #2 Eastern Illinois. EWU most likely will get a 3, but who knows, maybe Southeastern Illinois gets it instead (probably not).

I don't think the Southland is the best conference this year.

I completely concur. I don't even think they're in the top 2. Especially with SHSU in their current form.
Really name 2 better. Because the Southern is garbage this year, the CAA is down, the MFVC is not that great beyond NDSU. The I think the Southland is one and the Big Sky is 2. SELU, Mcnesse st, and SHSU are damn good teams. Especially SELU I watched their last two games and they have that transfer QB from Oregon and he can run and throw great, he is the most dangerous QB I have seen this year and that includes Adams. And their secondary is the best I have seen all year. They can really bring it. Watch out for them they are a real sleeper team.

You barely breat one of the worst teams in the MVC. Clearly you dont't understand the parity that conference has. There are no gimmy games like the Big Sky. I would take that 7-5 UNI team any day of the week over any Big Sky team with the exception of maybe EWU.

Because NAU beat you and finished second in the conference.

You mean the South Dakota team that had narrow losses to UM, SDSU, and YSU in consecutive weeks? The same USD who then had to play you, the Bison, after all those heartbreakers, and on the road nonetheless? USD was probably a total of 15 points from having a very nice season, and being playoff bound right now. USD had maybe one of the harder schedules in all of FCS, as did the bison. I believe the bison are the cream of the FCS without a doubt, but you are not unbeatable. In all likelihood NDSU will win it all again this year, but don't underestimate the "parity" of the rest of the league outside of the MVFC. Take EWU for instance. I don't believe there is a single MVFC team that can score as quickly as EWU. We will see in the coming weeks. Should be interesting.

GO GRIZ!!!
