If No. 3 on that list doesn't play better than they have in their first two games against the likes of Chadron and Drake, they are in for a rude awakening!
I don't think you'll find many Cat fans that will disagree with you. At least not any sober ones.

Don't get me wrong, your boys have plenty of talent, but from what I saw in those two games the Oline and Dline need to improve in a big way this week. How long are Minter and Daly out? They will be huge losses if they can't return soon.

I think the cats will be ranked about 15 - 20 by the time post season play starts. Lack of depth in the trenches is the WORST problem a team can have. Coach Mac can only do so much with young and light o-linemen. The D-line isnt deep at the DT position at all. As a cat fan I am disappointed in the emphasis put on "skill position" players over the big guys. It will cost us like it did last year. On the other side of the coin I would LOVE to see the Griz run more power with pulling guards. Moore is Kirk on roids and would thrive in power situations. Griz are on the up and up.....ask yourself if JJ would be significantly better that the RS Frosh at this point. The future is bright indeed!!!!!

Seems to me that the Cats will go down a few notches with a loss to Stephen F. Austin this week!

Agree. I love the cats but to be objective they are overrated at this point. I watched every snap of that game vs drake and had doubts about their ability to win from the start. The Griz should have won their game and I was shocked that they didnt. Lost power after half and felt comfortable that the Griz were the better team. Thought they would win. They dominated on paper (for the most part) against a top tier program on the road. Lost due to inexperience. If the two played this sunday I take the Griz by 14. Cats are a good team but have major issues with coaching philosophies and look timid. They look smallish too.

The bobcats are a perfect example why it is so crucially important to recruit several OL every year. They have top talent everywhere else and probably the most talented backfield in the conference, but it really doesn't mean much when your OL is getting pushed around and can't protect the backfield.

Not to mention DL players. They lost Minter, and now have no comparable force in the middle.

You are absolutely right in this. They did recruit a handful of o-linemen (though undersized), and freshmen and sophomores make up the bulk of their depth chart. In order to combat a lack of experience they tried to bring in some ju-cos who are still not on the roster. I think one had a detached retina and the other...not sure. Bottom line...their o-line recruiting was too little too late.

One has to admit however, these young o-linemen, though they will not get any bigger or faster this season, will improve drastically as the season wears on. I hope that the damage done by the time they figure it out isn't to grievous to keep the cats out of the playoffs. And I would enjoy a "good" game in Missoula. Even if I wasn't a Cat fan, the game in Bozangeles last year was NOT a good football game. It was a drubbing that I would have switched off at half time and went to a movie. But, I'm a cat fan so I still feel the sting of every agonizing minute.
