I expected SDSU and NIU to drop a lot in the polls ... but not this much. Wow. (But I do think it was the right think to do.)

Re: Poll guesses. The other two surprises, for me, was how far up the pollsters moved Illinois State (4-0), and the fact that Tennessee State (4-2) managed to hang on in the top-25 (barely). I think I-State deserves to be that high, and I guess the pollsters actually paid attention to that undefeated record. And I'm okay with T-State at #25.

The Sagarin Ratings are revealing. Griz dropped from 104 to 125, Cats from 124 to 133, EWU from 77 to 81, Cal Davis from 163 to 187, and lowly Idaho State zoomed from 188 to 138.

I am very intrigued by Illinois state. I'd be curious if anyone here knows anything more about them. colter posted stats last night and said that ISU currently is 2nd in the nation in scoring offense at about 49 points a game and 1st in the nation in scoring defense at like 7 points a game!

I was going to say probably a total joke but here is there info from ESPN. Looks semi-legit, time will tell but a whipping of SDSU makes it much more believable.

not so surprised at N Iowa falling ... they dropped to 2-3...

Griz only 4 points above 8th place... but no narrow escapes this week!!

The only thing I know about Illinois State is that my fifth grade teacher went there and was very clear that it was not the University of Illinois. That was 45 or so years ago.

Don't you get it? PR says ignore Saarin. (especially after this bad BSC news).

PR is not God, and I'll continue with Sagarin.

It's still a little early for Sagarin to mean much.

Also, with all due respect to their basketball offense, how the hell is Ewoo still getting first place votes?

I wondered that myself. Home cookin'?

I maybe can add some insight into why Tenn. State is still ranked because the team they lost too this weekend, Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), is good. Here is some info on SEMO

SEMO beat TSU by 7 points
This game was SEMO's homecoming. In addition,
SEMO has received votes for the top 25 in the last three weeks of the poll.
So far, SEMO has beat two ranked teams (Southeastern Louisiana and TSU).
SEMO's losses were too Kansas and to Southern Illinois (a ranked team).

So, IMO, TSU did not drop out of the poll because their loss was to a decent team.

I watched the 4th quarter of the NDSU game and that was NOT a good team that took them down to the wire on Saturday.

SDSU is toast without their 5th year QB starter
UNI has always been known as choking, (maybe they are doing it early this year?)
Illinois state always has good athletes and drop down FBS guys

Indiana State, SIU, Missouri state = who knows

NDSU lost their all American WR and western Illinois took advantage by stacking 8-9 in box and NDSU stubborningly kept trying to run and almost burned them.

Ah c'mon! No coach would be stupid enough to keep trying to run when they're getting stuffed :o

Oh wait ...

Oh c'mon, NDSU just had a bad game and you know it!

Guys it really is sad how some of you keep bringing PR up for every little thing. It comes off as some sort of inferiority complex.

Had to laugh after this, reminds me of a scene from "Full Metal Jacket":
Pogue Colonel: Then how about getting with the program? Why don't you jump on the team and come on in for the big win?

Private Joker: Yes, sir.

Pogue Colonel: Son, all I've ever asked of my marines is that they obey my orders as they would the word of God.

Everyone has their opinion(s), with which I may or may not agree. When proven wrong, I'll admit it, and hopefully, learn from the experience. :thumb:

PR: "This is my opinion. There are others like it, but this one is Mine!"
