I figured we'd hold firm at #10. This weekend is the best opportunity to move up, knock off EWU and the Griz will jump

Eastern Illinois at 2... that's an interesting spot. Way too much love for Nova, New Hampshire, UNI and SDSU

If the Griz win, I suspect they will jump Fordham, Towson and possible Coastal Carolina. If they win big, a la McNeese over Sam Houston, I think they could end up as high as 5.

Go Griz, it's time to click on all cylinders! :thumb:

Some weird s**t in the poll ... as usual. I suppose a win against Weber State doesn’t impress anybody, but it is unusual to jump a team five slots like they did McNeese. So the kitties win, and lose ground. ;)
Seems like that happened to the Griz this year. Conversely, Sam Houston dropped about as much as I figured they would.

No real surprises -- my guesses did great -- until you get down to New Hampshire. Sure, they won against a ranked team (‘Nova dropped about as much as I thought they would), but at home and by a desperation 2-point conversion. So we have the spectacle of a 3-3 team sitting at #20, having squeaked by ‘Nov and won against such powerhouses as Colgate (2-5 in the Patriot) and Rhode Island (3-5 CAA).

I had begun to think SDSU might drop out of the top-25, having lost four of their last five games, but they hung on (barely).

Sorry about not including the link to the actual poll. Here it is so you don't have to verify it from a separate thread:

Does anyone else -- I know there's at least one other -- find it odd that a team that has lost three straight is still ranked? Or four out of the last five in another case?

Nope, voters who probably don't put a tenth the thought into that you do.

How are 5-2 teams, each with FCS losses, ranked nos. 3 and 5? One to a 7th ranked team and to an unranked team. While I don't care, I don't get it.

Well, see, the people running the poll (TSN) plan it that way so we don't take the results too seriously. 8-)

(And if you believe that ... there's some ocean-front property in Arizona I'd like to talk to you about. )

They do have a win over San Diego St and their only loss(39-43) is to FBS #22 undefeated Northern Ill.
That Garoppolo kid is something else.
