Trumaine Johnson

He may be done with Jets, but can’t imagine he is done. Way too much talent and not old yet.

The jets have way more problems than Johnson.

Exactly my thoughts. If they don’t want him they’ll find someone who’ll take him. THey may have to eat this year’s salary (or a portion), but a deal will get done. Too expensive and too talented to be sitting the bench.

Yeah but he would have to be willing to take a pay hit. Not sure he would do that.

The Jets have to pay him his $45 million guarantee, no matter what (i.e. whether he plays or gets cut), or trade him to someone who will pick up his current contract. He isn't just going to quit or retire. Not saying you and I are saying anything different.

If he leaves the Jets, I hope he doesn't go to some place like Miami. They need all the help they can get. They are as bad as if not worse than the Jets.

Yeah just saying not sure that anyone would be willing to take that pay cap hit for him when he is now perceived as a problem. When his contract is done I would expect to see him "retired" ie no interest unless he is willing to take a huge pay cut. Some guys do it just to stay playing others walk. Trumaine seems the kind to me that would walk but who knows. Maybe he gets traded and his game picks up.

"The Jets are open to dealing defensive end Leonard Williams, wide receiver Robby Anderson, and would like to trade cornerback Trumaine Johnson -- who isn't expected to have a market because of his salary and play."
