Trouble Brewing for.........

Mslacat

Well-known member
.......... Mslacat.

The Griz have a not so new recruit on campus. When I say recruit I mean a player who will be playing for the Griz next year as a freshman. The kid is a 6-4 ish jumping jack who I am told looks like a really good prospect and mat contribute next year. He is a kid that graduated from High school in 2005, but attended a prep school in Mississippi. These nuggets of info generally cause me no discomfort in the least, but it appears his name might be .............

.......................... Giovanni Sims

Bring on the crow

Bring on the crow then? Might've missed something, did you say that Simms would not be attending mlsacat?

Even if you made a mistake I really appreciate your constant updates for us Griz fans.

As much as I hope not I think a certain poster will be chirping in quite soon to say otherwise.

No crow for Mslacat (at least on this point)- this is a different Sims.....I think the Sims not coming here (going to Fresno St.) is Rekalin Sims formerly of KY and Salt Lake Community College.

I searched the forum for Sims, and found the only Sims mentioned were:

Rekalin Sims brought up by Grizwhiz (twice, in this post and another), and Aaron Sims by MslaCat.

Giovanni Sims was not to be found in any post on a search of "Sims", except this thread.

Now, MslaCat did mention that Aaron Sims went to Montana-Western. Still may be the case.

i'll bet a lot on this: if we do make it back to the big dance next year, our first round opponent will be nevada. again. and if that happens, i hope we have somebody who can put the clamps on marcellus kemp. good if this kid can leap...better if he can play defense.

Stopping Kemp is a pretty tall order for a true freshman. Of the current GRIZ, I think Stuart Mayes might be best suited for the job. Gus Chase is also supposed to be a very tough and physical defender. By the way, Sims is now listed on montanagrizzles.com as a new GRIZ and on the GRIZ team roster. Van Vliet is no longer listed.

i think we may have a case of mistaken identity here. the jovanni sims newly listed on our roster is from milwaukee, not mississippi or minnesota, and a player by the same name played for custer high in milwaukee as recently as 2003, when he was tossed for fighting. is the guy from mississippi a jumping jack flash...in the pan?

on montanagrizzlies.com his name is spelled Jovanni Sims; that's why you couldn't find it. although, when i googled his name that way, I only got 2 items. One had him down for 0-0-0 in a 2003 game; the other was about his being involved in a fight.
Hmm

Thats funny...I googled it the way mslacat spelled his name and came up with this on hoopsusa

I am pretty sure they are the same guy. I think the Mississippi Prep school Sims originally went to high school in Milwaukee. Since he is listed on the UofM website, it would be nice if they would make an announcement and list some bio info. :twocents:
