i hardly ever get bothered by an announcer, but after a while tripp even just starts talking and my eyes automatically roll. seriously, the guy never shuts up about the opposing team - it's as if he thinks it's his job to give them props, regardless of the situation.

I disagree and think he and Gregorak called a good game. Give the kid a reason to talk all day about how the Griz dominate. There isn’t one right now. People are frustrated with the outcome of the games lately. Tripp is the scapegoat. I would rather have Tripp every day of the week over “Hit em in the tits Jay!”

I agree with this take. Tripp was objective in his analysis and thus kept his integrity. Was complimentary of both teams. Gregorak was the same. I thought the two were great.

Was it Jordan that said “run the damn ball” 3 times in a row yesterday? Regardless, I enjoyed it.

I thought they called a great game and I enjoyed the show!

Not nearly as annoying as Marty was

just watched the tv replay. Thought the entire crew did well. Ty and Jordy had good chemistry.
Maybe because Tripp played for Ty in Missoula. Has Ty at least come up with some other schtick than saying Melstone cowboy 500 times a game?

Tripp has given more blood, sweat and tears to the Griz than any of the rest of you assholes.
what does that have to do with the quality of his color-guy job? during the game it seemed like he was bending over backwards to praise the bobs at length, as if he was trying so hard to seem he was 'impartial' that he spent most of the time talking up the cats. gregorak seemed more even-keeled, in that he talked a lot more about quality plays by quality players, regardless of the team. he's a bit marty-ish, but not too over-the-top. man.

I think some people may be used to radio, where the crew usually has some direct or indirect connection to a team, and is expected to be a bunch of homers. Some schools do manage the streaming video broadcasts themselves, but that's not the case with UM and MSU. Scripps would lose credibility if they had a color commentator who was constantly cheering on his own alma mater or his own local market's team.

I liked Jordan Tripp in the booth a lot this season. I did not like Ty Gregorak but that is because I am mad about him leaving the Griz to join the Cats. Objectively I thought Gregorak did a great job in the Cat games I watched this season which was this one and the end of SDSU.

I thought the crew did well announcing the game, but I was just a little annoyed at the Caden Dowler gush-fest. Yes, he had a pick six against the Griz, and yes, he had one against Davis--but neither of them were because of great coverage. The one against Davis was just an inexplicable pass right to Dowler, with no receiver around, and the one yesterday was pure luck, with the ball just happening to tip right to him. He wasn't covering anyone closely on that one, either. He's a good player, but neither of those pick-sixes show any superior skill except in his return game. Maybe he should take over that part of the game from his brother? ;)

Have to disagree with you. Tripp does a great job, and Ty gave the griz a lot of props at different times too. Not sure what youd like an announcer do... at the end of the day, the cats won and made more plays than us. I find it annoying watching some of these other fcs announcers call games that are obvious Homer's.

It can also be said the ball didnt bounce our way, whether it was the pick 6 tipped right to dowler and of course a blatant fumble that fell right to the cats.. or a holding call that negated a griz td, that could quite literally be called on every play.
