Further proving my assertion that we should never recruit Missoula kids, too worried about looking pretty and playing up to the crowd.

I still can't believe he is wearing #37, I've had to wear a different griz jersey to the games this year because I refuse to support that decision.

There is no doubt that he was showboating and wasn't focused during the play, which is inexcusable no matter how you look at.

If this was a black California kid you would all agree with me, but since it's a "hometown boy" you are all willing to look the other way and pretend that he actually cramped up.

Missoula is in Montana. #37 goes to a player on defense from Montana. It is handed down from the previous player that wore #37. Don't recruit Missoula players???? So the Griz would have never had the Palmer brothers along with numerous other guys over the years. Bummer. Maybe we should just let the Cats have all the recruits from Missoula.
I'm well aware of the tradition you dolt.

Let the kittens have the weak Missoula kids.

They are spoiled from the day they are born, and have everything given to them. Kids like that have no place at the University of Montana

Wow, someone has had a problem with Missoula kids. "Dolt", gee you really hurt my feelings. You can't have a discussion or debate without name calling..just what we need on EGRIZ another Growler1..interesting that you came on about the same time Growler got his "time out". If you have a problem with Tripp wearing #37 why don't you take it up with Featherston.

Nobody likes G1, I've had my qualms with him and I'm insulted at your ignorance to compare that short prick to me.

And I have brought it up with Ryan, he agreed with my assertion about Missoula kids, however he claimed Tripper to be different.

I haven't seen anything to tell me that, but apparently Ryan did.

Hi Growler1. Glad you and Wolfman_Jack have access to the players, makes us all feel more comfortable about that NCAA investigation going on. I'm out, you've hijacked another thread and this is the last post on this thread I'll waste on you G1.

Just ask the mods if I'm G1, they can answer that for you.

just the fact that it's even a question and your posting style alone should tell you you're doing something wrong.

Alpha, do you agree with WMJ that Tripp was a poor choice for #37. If so who do you think should have gotten 37? Note, I'm not trying to pick a fight, just wondering your opinion. :thumb:

wolf hit it on the head bro. MT is only one of about fifty states in the USA so on a team with a hundred guys there shouldnt be more than like 2 players from here. but i looked at a roster last week and there were a rediculous amount of home state dudes waying us down. its gonna be hard for this team to compete with the elite until we recruit more from places where the football is competetive. just sayin

Yeah, cause 20+years of making it into the playoffs, umpteen Big Sky titles, 2 national championships and 7 trips to the national championship game means we suck.

Cue up the fans of Mariani, Colt, Lex, etc. etc. etc. etc. ...

Edit: Too late! :)

Do you agree that we should only have 2 players from MT on the team? Yea, fans of Colt Anderson, Vince Huntsberger etc. etc etc as well. If there are no players from Montana that can play FCS football in any one recruiting year then yea don't recruit someone just because they are from Montana, recruit the players that can play no matter what state they are from.

Ya'll are forgetting to mention the closing speed of Apon.
Actually, a couple guys did mention it was a WR burning up behind him ... but it gets lost in all the noise.

Not sayin' he did or didn't glance at the stands ... but he sure as hell didn't fake an injury.

TE actually, but a fast one.

Glad you aren't wearing #37...you aren't worthy. I defy you to a more deserving young man than Tripp. Hard working on and off the field, bleeds maroon and silver, gives 100% in everything...if you haven't 'seen' it, then you are probably lounging on your couch while he and other players are representing the football team and the U of M volunteering their free time to all sorts of good causes in and around Missoula. Who said he was 'spoiled'? Only your attitude is spoiled. Being "spoiled" and a "Missoula" kid doesn't make you an automatic griz football player, nor does it get you nominations on and off the field, tackles, great athletic talent...it doesn't win games. Hard work, deserving and exceptional athleticism does. Take your negativity and jelousy back to grade school where it belongs! Sounds like you have some sort of 'jelousy' issue going on. Who will you have issues with next week? One of the players whose hair is grown past his shoulders?????

Sick to death of the negativity and crap these players have to take from supposed 'fans' and 'supporters'...good thing these guys are able to rise above the B.S.please and show a higher level of maturity. Remember, they are all only human...Please, don't wear #37, but I bet you could easily sell it to someone who would do it proud!

Amen. It is becoming apparent that there are only like 10 dudes on EGriz. They all have multiple screen names and then say stupid things to see how many fish they can get to rise to the fly.
Every once in a while there is actually a good football discussion but it doesn't last long before it is high jacked by some doucher.

So you don't want Zack Wagenmann on the team either, because he's from Missoula and had 2 sacks, a tackle for a loss, and a broke up a pass?

That's a fine point wolfman! Growing up in Missoula County their parents are also likley to be democrats. F-them! Also those communist pigs from Butte!! Lets not water down our team with lefties!! Maybe we shouldn't let people from Missoula County even sit in the stands? They can watch the games on their government provided TV's at home while they enjoy their favorite snacks purchashed with welfare money. Worthless bastards!!
