Tripp Interception

Nope! No excuses he was showboating. Should have kept head to destination: upfield. He did slow to use block. BUT, no need to look to crowd and keep that pace! Speed up play not over nt that ref blows it! Learn and move on... Go Griz!!!

According to the video he made one quick glance at the students and it had nothing to do with him getting tackled.

I would say he's just checking out the sidelines to make certain he was still inbounds before he went for paydirt.

IMO he was looking too high up to be the sidelines. Checking out the hotties maybe? Still, a nice pick and run and it came at a great time for Montana.

Isn't college football about having a little fun? All you old farts wouldn't know what that is. To all of you thinking he was showboating... :butt: That was a smart defensive play as their QB had been eying down his receivers all the way prior to that. Also noticeable was #37's excellent speed and vision. He slowed to take advantage of the block and didn't realize a guy was that close behind him.

I was directly in front of the play...there was no show boating...he slowed to get a block...cut right, looked left and cut left as he got tackled....as he made the cut left. He lifted his leg because of the cramp stop making up this shit
Absolutely. Total B.S. on anyone who claims it was all showboating.

And freeze-frame on the view when the trainers came out. Yes, Tripp is ripped, but you could SEE in the view how his calf muscle had popped out like a piece of rope. I've had similar -- but not to that degree -- and they hurt like Hell. Tripp's pain threshold must be astronomical (which we kinda knew anyway).

When it comes right down to it, who gives sh*t? Nobody disputed that it was damned nice interception at a great time. If he was showboating, I'm sure the coaches will deal with that. As for the injury, who knows, maybe he knew he was getting a cramp and was looking for a massage therapist in the stands.

As for being the dumbest thread in weeks, c'mon, are you kidding? Look around!

Look at BA's vid again. He also looks back to his right directly before he gets tackled. There was no body motion whatsoever that suggests he was going to showboat.

Replay on the TV also shows that receiver (who can run too) was in a full sprint from the moment Tripp picked it off. He made up most of the ground when Tripp slowed up to get his block set.

Also - if you watch the replay, his left calf is cramped very obviously. You can see his left calf muscle completely flexed and balled-up as he is sitting there trying to stretch it. Can't fake that.

Thanks for the confirmation. As I said above, I've had that, just not as bad. I literally had to look away after what I was seeing registered ... painful memory gave a flashback. (And probably did for anyone who's had that happen to him/her.)

Tripper did get his butt chewed out by Coach Gregorak for looking up in the stands though. He wasn't showboating but could've/should've been putting a little more effort into focusing on getting into the end-zone in coach Ty's eyes.

ya, but doesnt a coach always think you could put in more effort haha...and i know ur not saying the injury was faked, but somebody was....it was clear to see in the vid the injury was legit, and i hear JT say he had a brutal cramp later on in the night....and a slight look to the left...didnt change the fact that a WR who is most likely faster was going to run him down after he cut back following his blocker.

Yeah I don't think the injury was faked, looked like he cramped up, could've also been part of the reason why he couldn't accelerate enough after getting the block.

To hard to tell from the NEZ, but I doubt Tripp would fake an injury. Weezy you think Tripp is the Griz's "Rudy", get a clue man.

Further proving my assertion that we should never recruit Missoula kids, too worried about looking pretty and playing up to the crowd.

I still can't believe he is wearing #37, I've had to wear a different griz jersey to the games this year because I refuse to support that decision.

There is no doubt that he was showboating and wasn't focused during the play, which is inexcusable no matter how you look at.

If this was a black California kid you would all agree with me, but since it's a "hometown boy" you are all willing to look the other way and pretend that he actually cramped up.

Ya'll are forgetting to mention the closing speed of Apon.
Actually, a couple guys did mention it was a WR burning up behind him ... but it gets lost in all the noise.

Not sayin' he did or didn't glance at the stands ... but he sure as hell didn't fake an injury.

Missoula is in Montana. #37 goes to a player on defense from Montana. It is handed down from the previous player that wore #37. Don't recruit Missoula players???? So the Griz would have never had the Palmer brothers along with numerous other guys over the years. Bummer. Maybe we should just let the Cats have all the recruits from Missoula.

I'm well aware of the tradition you dolt.

Let the kittens have the weak Missoula kids.

They are spoiled from the day they are born, and have everything given to them. Kids like that have no place at the University of Montana

Wow, someone has had a problem with Missoula kids. "Dolt", gee you really hurt my feelings. You can't have a discussion or debate without name calling..just what we need on EGRIZ another Growler1..interesting that you came on about the same time Growler got his "time out". If you have a problem with Tripp wearing #37 why don't you take it up with Featherston.
