Tripp added to Buchanan list

I really don't want them to burn Joey Counts red-shirt season. He has the ability to be a very good back for the griz. Built like Dan Moore but much quicker and faster.

Yeah.. He had 19 carries for 400 yards in one HS game. 317 yards came in the first half...... 8-)

Counts could be ready, if needed. Not sure on pass catching at all but the big issue with him would be blitz recognition and blocking. Not sure he'd bust out this year - could be a year or two away from being at that level.

We've also got Caleb Walden, a senior, who has a good burst of speed but has shown some issues with the zone-read and getting through the zone-blocks the OL does a lot.

But back on topic, congrats to Tripp.

Right now his line through 5 games is:

52 tackles / 5.5 TFL / 2 sacks / 1 int / 2 FF

Which, if he follows that trend he'd finish up with

115 tackles / 12 TFL / 4.5 sacks / 2 int / 5 FF

Not sure if that's Buchanan-worthy numbers but it's pretty damn good. Those kind of numbers were what McSurdy and Beef Lebsock were putting up their senior years.

Counts was very successful in these areas in high school and has natural instincts for the game. Realize college is a big step up but... Has he gotten the reps needed in these areas for him to be ready to contribute enough to make it worth burning his redshirt?

Good for Jordan. He deserves it. It's a good thing that we get to focus on what happens on the football field with great play rather than this off the field crap.

Interesting tidbits there.

Burning Joey Counts redshirt because of the injury to Dan Moore.

I dont understand that..... :?

Big mistake. This kid will be great, but we do not need him this year. Our third-string tailback is very good, if they would just use him.

Who is your 3rd string,

Moore is out indefinitly
Canada has a tweakd hammy

the other little guy that fumbles a lot is all you got that I know of.

Who is the next in line after him
http://espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=313230147" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hint: he was our third leading rusher that game :coffee:

You'd think someone who spends every waking hour on this forum would be a little more knowledgeable, but then again, she is working on about 20% of normal human brain power.
