who's story has more holes yours or trieweiler's?PlayerRep said:So TT, who didn't attend UM for either undergrad or law school, does a guest editorial, bashing UM and providing supposedly specific information. Given the number of inaccuracies and bias, I wonder if the Missoulian and Florio fed him this information. I hope Williams didn't feed him all of this incorrect information. If so, that would be further evidence that Williams has lost it and shouldn't be a regent.
I wonder what Bobcat fans would think if a friend and lawyer for Delaney (perhaps someone who knew from football at Western) wrote a guest editorial bashing the Bobcat program and full of inaccuracies--without disclosing, of course, the relationship with Delaney?
Here's an edited version of a prior post from another thread, pointing the inaccuracies in the TT editorial.
TT doesn't know what he's talking about on the subject of Griz football.
Wilson was acquitted of murder (12-0 with a prior hung jury that voted 11-1 in favor of acquittal)--for lack of evidence and self-defense. He had come to his aunt's house after learning that her gang-member boyfriend had beat her unconscious with a hammer and urinated on here. It's surprising that anyone from Montana would see that as an indication of thuggery.
Freeman didn't necessarily witness the Wilson incident. I read that he stayed in the car, and it was dark. If someone is a potential co-conspirator, any lawyer would advice him not to talk to the police, which is what his lawyer apparently did. Note that the prosecution never even called him to testify in the trial, which they clearly could have done. Yes, Freeman had other incidents. However, he was acquitted of one, and was actually off the team when he was charged with that, and before the other incidents.
Johnson/Swink didn't violently assault another student. This was part of series of skirmishes that night. The kid, who I don't believe was a student at the time, didn't go to the police (presumably because he knew he was partially at fault and he was a stand-up guy).
Johnson/Kemp didn't obstruct a police officer. That incident ended in disorderly conduct. There were allegations of police misconduct.
Donaldson, correct. Still doesn't mean he was or is a thug. He made a big mistake.
The alleged gang rape (blow jobs) was never charged, and players ultimately won their honor court hearing 7-0 and were allowed to graduate.
There was never a UM admission that a number of players were involved in sexual assaults. The dean and perhaps Engstrom made what turned out to be incorrect statements, but I don't believe ever said players were actually involved in sexual assaults. The dean was a train wreck on sexual assault matters, and misjudged and mishandled virtually every one that has been made public, including the Saudi one.
The recent beating of the store clerk was not done by a former player with a history of problems. The former player with some problems was minimally involved when he allowed his car to be used, or drove his car, with the cash register to an apartment, but he was not involved in the incident that occurred the prior evening.
What other violent assaults of women involving some of these same players? Maybe Freeman, and I believe Parks may be married to the girlfriend who initially made an allegation.
How much false information and false innuendo can one person fit in a Missoulian editorial? Apparently, alot.

speaking of failing to be forthcoming with all his background, you leave out that our football team has been involved in some sort of legal or team issue 50 times in the past 5 years and three months. That's almost 10 times per year!!!! sure some of these had been plea bargained down, but you're higher than 10 hippies at a grateful dead show if you think trieweiler is exaggerating as much as you are.
there was no evidence that smoot beat wilson's sister with a hammer or urinated on her. the murder weapon was never found. wilson fled the scene. freeman was with him. the entire football team was told not to talk to the police who came to missoula. wilson came back to missoula and bit a girl on the leg, o'day took a photo of it to the missoulian to try to exonerate wilson. just a total mismanagement of a situation from top to bottom. what we should be asking is what did wilson have on o'day?
johnson and swink did violently assault someone. they combined to assault someone and when they had him down they kicked him in the head and broke his jaw. it was kept under wraps until the kaimen found out and asked questions and they were belittled and blackballed by hauck for it. the kaimen, of course, like florio, engstrom, van valkenburg, the d.o.j., the n.c.a.a., the j.j. accuser, any prosecutor, and so on was flogged by you and many more on egriz.
donaldson raped someone. gee, sorry, but you're beyond a thug for that. you and datsopolous are quite frankly sick in the head for thinking otherwise.
there were two incidents of alleged gang rape. one, involving four players, was taken to the police and they didn't press charges, but it is the impetus of the d.o.j. investigation. you say it was ruled 7-0 in favor of the players in the honor court, but you show nothing that proves that. the other, involving two players, also went to the honor court, but you're leaving out what happened to those players.

you're being ridiculous. you make every effort you can to sugarcoat and place blame elsewhere on nearly every issue that occurs here. your only success has been that you've played a role in creating the sour environment that surrounds this team. you only apply your legal acumen in an effort to defend our players, never to give an angle on both sides of a story.PlayerRep said:getgrizzy said:who's story has more holes yours or trieweiler's?PlayerRep said:So TT, who didn't attend UM for either undergrad or law school, does a guest editorial, bashing UM and providing supposedly specific information. Once again, virtually everything you said is not correct. You are a huge liar.
1. I was addressing only TT's mistakes. Now, I will address your mistakes--actually lies.
2. It is absolutely true that Smoot beat up Wilson's aunt, and as described. The football team was not told not to cooperate. In fact, they were encouraged to cooperate.
3. It is not true that UM had 50 legal/team issues in 5 years. You just made that up, and that has been debunked previously.
4. O'Day didn't take the photo to the Missoulian. They had a meeting, and O'Day had his entire file on the subject with him. With the reduced charge and tiny fine, the initial charge all but disappeared.
5. No, Johnson/Swink did not violently assault someone. It was part of a series of skirmishes. The kid's step mom worked for me at the time. I talked to her about this subject multiple times. No charges were even brought or considered.
6. The ncaa did not come to UM because of any gang rape situation or any sexual assault. The focus was on another matter or other matters. They apparently didn't even ask much about sexual assault.
7. It is absolutely true that players won their honor court hearing 7-0, and both seniors were allowed to graduate. Multiple people on the board can confirm this. Several players left UM, so I don't think there was ever a honor code violation charge brought against them. However, if they had had one and had protested it, they too would have won--presumably 7-0.
You can try to tell all the lies you want, but that won't make them true.
3. i've shown the list of legal/team issues on here before, yet you continue to try to say it never happened. you can't change history. i'm not going to post the list again because i don't like to drag their names through whatever the did again. if anyone wants it you can p.m. me.Rubino said investigators were following up on leads they received from witnesses in California -- and to interview players on UM's football team.
"It left a bad taste in our mouth that the players wouldn't cooperate with us. If it was on the other foot and their teammate got killed, they would be really forthcoming," said Rubino, who returned to Los Angeles on Wednesday night. "Someone got murdered here and we're just looking for some cooperation."
The Missoulian was unable to locate Freeman for a comment on the murder investigation.
UM executive vice president Jim Foley would not comment on Freeman's status on the football team, or about UM football players' unwillingness to cooperate with the Los Angeles homicide investigators.
granitegriz said:getgrizzy~you lost all credibility with me with no. 1. I don't care what facts you know about the Wilson case, but a jury found him not guilty. Move on! Get over it! You have bias too so don't forget that. You on the Missoula PD?
1. yes, the only evidence about what she said, which she changed from her original statement, was her testimony. other witnesses told the police that wilson brought a rifle to smoots home. thanks for acknowledging that the weapon wasn't found and that freeman would've made a lousy witness for the defense.PlayerRep said:Addressing getgrizzy's last post:
1. On the Wilson stuff, I see that you admitted that there was testimony that Smoot beat up the aunt, and that Smoot owned an assault rifle. Thanks for admitting what I had already said. Note that one of his prior two felonies involved ownership of an illegal assault rifle. Thanks for admitting that the prosecution didn't call Freeman to testify. Presumably, because they knew he would support the defense. The defense didn't call Freeman, because he was in jail at the time, and the prosecution would likely have had him wearing an orange jumpsuit and perhaps wearing shackles--and that doesn't make a witness look credible the jury.
2. You said the "entire football team was told not to talk to the police". That wasn't true, as you well know. The quote you showed, doesn't support what you said. It merely says that one investigator said the players wouldn't cooperate. They didn't have any obligation to talk to the investigators.
3. As I said, your previously posted list of player issues was woefully inaccurate, and has been debunked on multiple occasions.
4. You don't know who called the meeting. The press was contacting O'Day for comment. In any event, there's nothing wrong with the university or anyone explaining to the press, what a minor incident that was. That's what good press relations is about.
5. The kid in the incident outside the frat was neither a preppy or nor a student. He's Irish and a pretty tough kid. Again, I know what occurred. No brutal assault.
6. You don't know what prompted the DOJ investigation. In any event, the investigation didn't result in any issues of significance for the university, and none for the athletic program, is what I've heard.
7. Again, just because you're not in the know, doesn't mean that the honor code hearing didn't turn out 7-0 for players. Again, various people on the message board can confirm what I said, and what others have said previously.
Man, you really struck out on these things. 0-7. Glad others are now seeing and posting what a loser you are.

2. they didn't all individually decide not to talk to the police. that's a coincidence only you could make up.
3. the list isn't inaccurate at all. there have been roughly 10 players per year on average get in trouble with either the law or the school. it's a trend. it needs to be curtailed.
4. thanks for agreeing that o'day tried to do some p.r. to sugarcoat the event.
5. thanks for agreeing that they curb-stomped him. the kid thinks he's tough and you think he's tough, that doesn't mean he is. not very many people are tough enough to beat up two football players. not very many people curb stomp someone, but t.j. and swink did.
6. the d.o.j. was contacted by the girl, and/or people representing her on her request, claiming to have been drugged and raped by the four players. that was the initial contact to the d.o.j. that incident is part of the d.o.j. investigation and could ultimately lead to n.c.a.a. sanctions.
7. just because you're in the know doesn't mean the honor court ruling wasn't 0-7. you could've just been told that because you're commonly known to frequent places like egriz and will always get any info out that will excuse, exonerate or acquit any player regardless of the act. a patsy.
yeah, i really thought everyone on the board would agree with everything i'm saying. i'm just shocked that anyone has tried to refute anything i've said.   your last sentence ("haha, everyone is on my side...na-na-na-naaaaa-na") sounded like a grade school kid.
i do enjoy how you take everything written literally when it's convenient for your argument. "it wasn't 50 players in 5 years and 3 months, it was 49 in 5 years and 1 month, so you're a liar." "it didn't say no one told the players they couldn't talk to the investigators, it said the players refused to talk to the detective, so you lied. admit it you're a liar."  is that how you win cases?

If this was just a "series of skirmishes" that the kid was "partially responsible for" that night, why would you encourage the family to contact Bobby?

So that Bobby would know, for sure, some of his guys were involved in an incident (and could look into it and take any appropriate action).
