Trent McKinney's semi break-out game coming today!

Great Post! This helps to show our talent & depth is young and needs to be allowed to make a few errors now before we get to the later part of the year and hopefully the post season. Wolcott got the start at WR but did not play much after the first series or two. Naccarato appears to be over his skis, he maybe our fastest player but he's also our smallest and least physical.

Gratton, Saylor, Henderson & Haynes our best receivers period. I was at this game and felt that Henderson was two well thrown balls away from two more Griz TDs. Our defensive Fr & Sophs seem to be acclimating and developing at a faster pace but defense is always ahead of offense.

Very well stated and thanks for holding more Griz fans accountable for their lack of knowledge and patience. Later this year our Frosh will be Soph, our Sophs wll become Jrs from an experience standpoint due to all the game reps and experience. Looking forward to the ride this year and for the next 3-4 years as well

TMcK was not at the top of his game and if a WIN is the result of his C level game then I will be first to tell you I will take it. I am excited about this group of guys and their true potential that I believe they will achieve.

Dan Moore = BEAST

Go Griz

Through 3 games
Completions/Attempts: 60/90
Td's: 6
INT: 4
Yds: 616

Rushing : 163 yds, 2 tds

Avg/gm
20/30 (66.7%), 2 tds, 1 int, 205 yds plus 51 yds rushing

Redshirt freshman folks, and thats pretty damn good. Sadly if you told 99% of the FCS coaches in this country that they would have a frosh with those numbers, they'd be happy as hell....and so would their fans. Now back to everyone's b*tching! Although I realize some post just to create drama, and not what they truly believe anyway.

We seem to be a society now that does nothing but snivel, whine and moan. Even the 70somethings are on board with the new philosophy of life. Cant imagine people whining so much 40 years ago. This is what the Internet has helped create.

McKinney is 21st in nation in total offense, 24th in passing efficiency, and 8th in rushing (of qb's in top 50 of total offense).

Well on his way to the Payton watch list.

Yes I ADMIT I jumped the gun on Trent. HOWEVER the gun is being prepared to shoot. When? Soon.

McKinney had the nervous "highs" in the Liberty game and did not shine (as I expect him to do soon.) I talked with two coaches before the game, they indicated with smiling faces that we would see a ton of freshmen playing along with some other "young" players and expect some mistakes. Also mentioned was the speed they bring.

I noticed this:
Herbert Gamboa (Freshman) made and excellent tackle on special teams.
Connor Lebsock (Freshman) made a few nice hits on defense.
Brent Kirschner (Soph) made some very nice gains as a RB
Ellis Henderson (Freshman) made some nice moves, missed a catch in the end zone shoulda made.
Nate Harris (Frehsman) made some very nice tackles and hits at corner.
Matt Hermanson (Soph) Is playing like his Defensive boss wants.
Trent McKinney (Freshman) Is playing very well and getting better each week.
Josh Dennard (Soph) Playing good and is getting better at corner.
Jordan Canada (soph) I had quit on him. He shows some good things, has speed @ RB.
Nick Holt (Freshman) LB caused fumble, will be a good one in the up-coming games.
Justin Whited (Freshman) Good SP T Play. Looks to be a good one @ Corner.
Brian Maus (Soph) Has shown some good play.
Derek Crittenden (Freshman) Are you kidding me? He is a sleeper. Excellent DE.
Trevor Rehm (Soph) Playing very well at DE.
Zack Wagernman (Soph) Played lights out. Excellent now. Wow.
Samson Kaleikini (Frosh) OG got in the game and did very well at guard.
Chris Lider (Frosh) Kicked a few FGs and is doing very well.
Steve Shaw (Frosh) Punted the ball long, high and deep.
Tyrone Holmes (Frosh) DE as a true freshman? Fast, quick and started at DE. He is a comer!
Tonga Takai (Soph) Tough and great to have in the middle.

Yes I missed a few and am sorry. Fill in any you see as great young players. This list is one of the reasons most of you doubters should notice improvement in the coming weeks. Plus I think we have some great coaches that are giving these young guns a chance at playing. Money in the bank for later on.

Last season I seemed to think it was an abnormal year with all the stupid nuts throwing us into the garbage heap. Then we end up having a super year! Did not these fair weather fans learn anything?
Bitch when we win? Complain if we do not play perfect? Whine about the freshman making mistakes? Bother to watch the games, or are they simply out drinking their abilities? These "fans" remind me of a few of my ex wives!
Well said!

McKinney has better stats at this point, than a certain Mont St qb on the Payton Watch list--and against better competition.

He's clearly an elite fcs qb. Will be interesting to see what happens next year if jj is back on the team.

McKinney is clearly the second best running back we have and he runs the wild cat well.

Maybe another season, probably not this one. If DM keeps it up, I believe he will make the watch list this year.

I think it's time for some Griz fans to jump ship. You couldn't get over how much Joe Glenn ran the ball versus the Don Read air it out days (which I loved and was a student at UM during BTW). More of you really hated how BH ran the ball a lot even though somehow, for a team that NEVER passed, Marc Mariani became the school's all-time leading receiver in only two years as a starter. And NOW, some of you can't accept that the Griz run an offense with a true dual/threat, "athlete" playing QB. GUESS WHAT, the "air-bear" DAYS ARE NEVER COMING BACK!!! EVERRRRRRRRRR. So some of you that absolutely can't accept it after almost two decades of being gone, maybe it's just time for you to move on to a different team. This is what the Montana Grizzlies are, for now. Maybe it will change to a different style when Mick decides to hang it up, but this is what the Griz are and what I don't understand is, if some of you hate it that bad, and the only offense you ever liked was the "air-bear" and everything since has made you miserable, why would you continue to be miserable when you can't change it? Why not just go pick a different favorite college football team, and leave the rest of us Griz fans alone?
+1

Bump....

This is McKinney's week. Mark it down. The App St. hangover is gone and he will light it up. :thumb:

If by light it up you mean our backs wont have to make acrobatic one handed catches on the swing pass I hope your right.

He broke out for about one quarter this week. After that, the wheels fell off. Even the announcers were wondering why Coach was leaving him in there.

Like they really are experts? Oh, they are in their own minds, but I'm pretty sure they don't know a whole long more (or as much) as the more knowledgeable fans and formers players.

This morning in the Missoulian, Speltz described one of the interceptions as an "...off-balance, against-his-body pass that fluttered like a goose with a moose head attached." I had to laugh my ass off when I read that.... :lol: http://missoulian.com/sports/college/montana/football/speltz-coasting-proves-extra-costly-for-the-griz/article_688bb056-0530-11e2-8a1d-001a4bcf887a.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Next week McKinney will break out against No Colorado......then after one game against a horrible team the knee jerk idiots will forget the previous 5 games he played horribly in and call him Black Jesus 2.0
