Havgrizfan, you are right. It goes on in both boards. You guys did not violate anything and do not have anything to worry about from cat-bracket. Like Emmert would ever listen to this garbage. I am sure both schools know what the NCAA rules are and are careful to abide by them.

As far as Knight is concerned, it appeared the coaches at MSU have checked out the whole situation with his tenure at Nevada and the incident he was alleged to be involved in. Apparently, it was found to be okay and they are confident he will do a good job for the Cats. We do not know the facts. It is really no different than the JJ situation Cat fans decimated him without knowing the facts. It was totally out of bounds!

RE: walk on's Ash stated they would be announcing msu walk ons in the next week or so. So long as recruits formally accept admission, its all good.

Judging from all the griz talking about the Bobcat recruiting day the griz must have had a boring recruiting day.

I cannot speak for everyone else, but I try to make a cat joke, dig at least once a day. Even when I am busy at work, I talk crap about the cats. The worse part is no one here in Nevada understands my jokes unless they been around me for some time.

I have no issues with the Knight signing. It's a big risk, but signing any 18 year old is a risk.

But it is NOT like the JJ situation. JJ was -- by all measures -- a model citizen, student, teammate and leader before he was unjustly arrested. Not even the most ardent Knight supporter could EVER claim that.

This dude almost transferred to MSU last year, but it his legal problems hadn't been resolved, so I think the Cats backed off. He got all his stuff worked out, so Ash is taking a shot on him. I have no issue with it, but it's definitely worth pointing out the hypocritical nature of several MSU poster here and on BN. IF this kid had transferred to UM, there would be multiple posts on here bashing the Griz for it, and a thread on the College Sports section of BN would be devoted to it as well. That's a 100 percent fact.

The kid actually contacted UM, but our coaches said no thanks.

UM isn't in a position to take risks on these kinds of kids, and they won't be for a few more years. They can't take another PR hit, and they can't afford to play loose with their limited schollies.

Ash has built up some capital by running a relatively tight ship since he has been in Bozeman. He put a lot of it on the line with this signing and his preemptive press conference statement. Only time will tell if it pays off.

Sounds like a great idea. I coach 8-man at the Virginia City High School when I am not being a cop. However, a good friend of mine and an outstanding GRIZ fan is the Head Coach for the Dust Devils. Anytime is a good time for a cat joke.
