Transfers?

It should be pointed out that all charges were dropped against this young man. Like you guys said about JJ, he is innocent until proven guilty and that is what happened and things are now fine. It is the same thing with Knight. Charges were dropped as there was a lack of evidence. He is innocent. I am sure he was thouroughly interviewed by the MSU coaching staff and they must feel comfortable that he will be fine. Ash's track record is good with the young men he has taken chances on. I hope it works out for the young man the same as it has for JJ.

No program in the Country is immune to having a player screw up. There is always that chance. Both schools will have incidents in the future. We can only hope they are not too serious. These are young kids and we all know sometimes they make bad decisions. We all have when we were younger.

Sure we've all made mistakes, BUT how many of us have held a gun on somebody to gain cash? That's a very dangerous situation and no matter what the circumstances, regardless of charges being dropped or not, should a dangerous person be invited to represent my alma mater.

The charges were dropped. You nor I know the facts as to wether or not he held a gun on anyone. We also do not know the facts as to why he was dismissed from school. The bottom line is we don't know any facts about this kid. Like I said, I am sure that our coaches have interviewed him very thouroughly. Kids do learn from their mistakes. I don't think MSU would take a chance on a kid if they didn't think he was going to be ok.

A coach that lost his last three games, had his ass handed to him by his instate rival and got knocked out of the playoffs. Always goes to the "Win at any COST" mentality. How can he not? The kitty faithfull are all pounding their little blue bobkitten cups on the table demanding more wins? Alls Ash has left for next year is nothing, after loosing his all time great QB, WR and RB? He has no other choice!

This dude almost transferred to MSU last year, but it his legal problems hadn't been resolved, so I think the Cats backed off. He got all his stuff worked out, so Ash is taking a shot on him. I have no issue with it, but it's definitely worth pointing out the hypocritical nature of several MSU poster here and on BN. IF this kid had transferred to UM, there would be multiple posts on here bashing the Griz for it, and a thread on the College Sports section of BN would be devoted to it as well. That's a 100 percent fact.

I'm very clear on this. I don't want him. Never have. I'd rather lose every game than have this kid become a Bobcat. Armed robbery is a serious offense. It's not like a little weed or a DUI, oh wait, he did those too. Well, maybe he's a fabulous running back.... Nevermind he has a BAD fumble problem.

This is stupid. Apparently we forgot 2006 already.

Rob Ash read this statement before fielding any questions:

“Prior to leaving the University of Nevada-Reno, Anthony Knight was falsely implicated in a situation and chargers were filed,” Ash read in a prepared statement before fielding any questions from the media. “Anthony Knight was not present at the incident. All the chargers were subsequently dropped. We’ve researched his character. We have no doubt that he will be a fine representative of Bobcat football. Anything that is written or posted tying Anthony Knight to this previous incident is unfair to him as a person. When we get to the question and answer period, I’ll be happy to talk about Anthony Knight as a football player, but references to this prior incident will not be accepted.”

This looks all too familiar to what a certain UM coach got fired for...

Seems Rob Ash has done his typical "Half Time Adjustments" on this deal?
He signs him prior to May 28th of 2013 after getting kick off Nevada Team for some incident?

"Knight announced on Twitter on May 28 that “I’m leaving Reno June 10th to attend Montana State.” The 6-foot-1, 225-pound back rushed for 10 yards on four carries and scored one touchdown as a freshman and was expected to provide depth to a Bobcats backfield led by two-time all-conference selection Cody Kirk."

Then : Knight was arrested June 5 for investigation of reckless driving and failure to provide proof of insurance. Incident #2

Now this next case hasn't actually been dropped, the DA just isn't prosecuting this one yet?

Police Sgt. Mike Browett told the Reno Gazette-Journal that the two 20-year-old suspects arranged to meet with other people Friday to sell sports memorabilia, but produced firearms and demanded money during the meeting.

He said the victims got away unharmed, and officers arrested Poates and Knight during a traffic stop in downtown Reno.

and Ash wants everyone to believe only this ONE thing didn't ever happen?

It actually reminds me a lot of the Gregorak story.

Except Gregorak didn't have a BIG string of PRIORS

He wasn't just kicked off a coaching Staff

and he wasn't just arrested days before on a reckless driving charge
and failure to provide proof of insurance

I dub thee, Knight of the Iron Cell

Posted on June 17, 2013

Judging by the mug shot and the arrest record, Anthony Knight is a guy who spends an equal amount of time manscaping and escaping. And that is bad news for those who live in “Bobcat Nation” — a fictional world with unicorns and fans of Montana State football — for their incoming running back has been arrested twice in about a week.

Knight and Avery Poates, both recently dismissed from the Nevada football team, were arrested Friday in Reno after people accused them of using weapons to steal their sports memorabilia. The joke’s on them. The hockey stick was signed by Wayne Gressley and that really isn’t a lock of Andre Agassi’s hair from the early 1990s.

There were reports that Knight — who was arrested almost as many times (three) as he carried the ball last season (five) — had transferred to Montana State. Despite his tribulations, here is a man who has still managed to keep his chin up and his beard trimmed just the way the shawties like it.

Poates, who will for simplicity’s sake in the legal system be referred to as “the other not-quite-as-clean guy,” grew up in the Inland Empire like I did. So I can’t say I’m surprised.

Yep...he was charged with reckless driving. And he would have gotten away too with it if it werent for those meddling kids and their dog.

Coach Ash stated that Knight was not even present at the incident. Does anyone on here have proof otherwise? I would say no one does. Your comments on here are meaningless!

Which one of the incidents are you NOT referring to?
Which of the THREE incidents was Rob Ash referring to?
Please let us know so we can discuss the other TWO! :thumb:

You are right Big Kid, as I said we do not know the facts. Apparently Coach Ash does and thats why he made it clear that Knight was not even present at the incident. Apparently they feel confident things are okay. Nice addition to the Cats.

Ash is seeing the writing on the wall.. 7-5 with the premier qb, running back, and receiver will make any coach justify the unjustifiable. The Griz are locked and loaded in 2014. The cats need transfers to survive 2014.
