5th year senior, one year eligibility, could play immediately, only offer thus far Liberty. Liberty?! Go get this guy Wayne! Would be just what this team needs.

I see that he grew up in Lethbridge until his junior year in high school. Looks like he has had lots of potential, but could never get on the court. Probably could have used him this year. Needs to take both sessions of summer school, to graduate in August.

Hell yeah, bring this guy in for 1 year. At the very least contact him, meet him, and see what kind of fit there would be. I wonder what other post players we are going after?

FWIW----Matt Carlno BYU guard with 1 year eligibility remaining (graduates this year) is transferring but no mention of where. Not sure his skills really mesh with our needs...curious why he is leaving Provo... :!:

That's Carlino, BTW...

no used band-aids. recruit young kids. build the program from the bottom up, not top down. the next five signings are crucial. don't waste one.

This is quickly becoming a trend in college hoops, & to a lesser extent football (Russell Wilson anyone?). Do not forget, these are kids that already graduated & are looking to expand their college experience, or in this case looking for playing time. No bad apples, just disciplined, mature, hard working young men. The reason why he couldn't see the court at SDSU was because they brought in Josh Davis, a 5th year senior transfer from Tulane who was a double-double machine & an integral part of their team. I think they're more than happy they brought in that "Band-Aid". It's more than that, it's a turbo boost for a year at a position that everyone will agree was the Achilles heel of this Griz team. Dude would eat up the BSC in my opinion.

I think Carlino is from arizona, went to UCLA initally and decided on BYU eventually. I'd guess he'd head to ASU or NAU.

I disagree. Get talent if even for one year and do your best with your assets that year. Especially in this case, with a big talented kid, coming to a team with no bigs and no rebounding. When paired with Breunig, it now gives the staff something to utilize down low. Couple him with a true freshmen big that has already signed and we get the best of both worlds.

A real "Travelin Man"...eh

Does anybody have any highlights of the guy? I did a quick search but didn't find anything right away. Some people on here are just much better at finding them.

Scout.com had him listed as a 4 star recruit. He originally committed to Virginia but transferred to SDSU after his Freshman year (redshirted, then played very little his first active year with Virginia).

Besides Virginia he had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, California, UConn, Marquette, Maryland, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Scout had him listed as the #8 center. Rivals had him as a 3 star and as the #22 PF (#108 prospect over all). ESPN had him as a 4 star and the #23 PF.

Couldn't find any highlight videos though. Just from what I've read in other articles though he'd be a great pick up for the Griz. Seriously doubt he ends up here though.
