Tranfsers and Departures

I'll bet there are a lot of people on this board that would be very, very excited to read a thread about the transfer or departure of Growler1 :D
It would be no loss. You never want a poster who is really not a fan. We see enough "holier than thou" attitude in nearly every single one of his posts.

What will they say about you, when you are the departed one?

Your idea of a "fan" is something I do not identify with. If being a "fan" is losing my objectivity regarding Grizzly athletics, then i'll leave that to you "good fans" who don't have a grasp on reality.

Just out of morbid curiousity grabber, how exactly is saying that there is NOTING good about Grizzly athletics being objective?

If you would be honest, you would admit that I say PLENTY of positive things about the Griz, both football and basketball. But, I also try to bring levity to a board that is filled with sugar-coaters, who are incapable of discussing anything perceived as "negative" about Grizzly athletics. I can not deal with people who claim to understand sports, but would are so one-sided with no objectivity. This shows me that they are pedestrian fans, and should just stick to being fans, without attempting to discuss the X's and O's of sports.

There is nothing wrong with being a pedestrian fan. Just don't spew vitriol at me for having the gonads to be objective. End of story!

If he thinks he's going to be treated more "gently" at Wazzu though he's got another thing coming. I'd heard he didn't really respond to the challenges of strengthening ones mental fortitude.
I'd heard he didn't really like being a Montana Grizzly period. Didn't get along with the other players, didn't like Missoula etc. Nothing wrong with a kid going back to his home state to play for the school he actually has an emotional connection with. My guess is he chose Montana over Wazzu initially because he felt he would get to play early (which he would have if he stayed). But the reason he left is not because of playing time or the depth chart.

No loss. You never want a kid who does not want to be here. We saw enough of that "greater than thou" attitude with Roper.

hey'll yah, man! ahs reh'membur a former unyversity er monttanna baze-ball playa frum oh-hi-oh who dun gone plait that game, even tho hewu'zzuh reezerve. hey'll, heez still plaiten it...

You are correct, I only started a few games. I batted .278 in my two years at UM, with zero home runs, 5 doubles, and one triple.

Amazing. I got almost to the bottom of the first page and the thread stayed on topic and posts were positive and to the point, before it went off the rails just near the bottom. That has to be a record.

Well let's leave it to the usual suspects who will devolve into personal insults and mud slinging. They should run for political office.

Just for the record, I come here to glean Griz football news and the wading through all of the personal insult crap can get very tedious.

Yeah, good luck with that TX.

In case you haven’t noticed, there are some real dandies on this board, who apparently have no life outside of egriz.

Sad.

You are right. There is way too much BS in most football threads. The basketball threads are actually pretty clean. Too bad you are not a basketball fan. :thumb:

Maybe I missed it somewhere but I see Nelo Butler is still listed on the roster. Is he still a possibility? Did he redshirt or greyshirt? Or is he gone?

You expect the rosters to be updated?

So does this mean that we now have a scholarship open for Malik Watson or is this a dead issue?
Don't think Malik Watson was ever offered a scholarship. Sounds like he was under the impression that if he wanted to play for lowly old Montana, we would for sure take him and be jumping up and down with joy as he would surely compete right away to start. That is the mentality of a some out of state athletes when viewing Montana. I knew a couple former basketball players from out of state that both ended up transferring and they both told me they fully expected to come in to Montana, be the star recruit, and immediately be in the mix to start as a true freshman.

what?!? who? us? jumping up and down when we thought malik watson was coming here??? nooooo, we didn't do that.

I thought he was still trying to get his qualifying test scores high enough to be admitted by the highly selective Montana University System.

He actually is talking about San Jose State now, who have an opening with Forcier not making the grade.

This is somewhat old departure news, but I saw in the Billings Gazette this morning that Chase White from Shelby will be going to Rocky to play QB. Almost certainly a better shot at playing time for him there (as with Berg at Tech).

I don't think it has anything to do with grades or test scores. He has a 3.79 GPA and said he did quite well on his SAT. I honestly believe he read eGriz a little too much. Thought he was a shoe in to come to MT if that was what he wanted. And then the Griz never actually offered. I still wish we would offer him cause I think he could be a dang good QB here.

Yeah, I don't think he even showed up to camp in the fall.

....there are budding 'Mariani's, "Dickensons" out there that want to be here, buy in and will be the players that we want!

Good luck to the guys leaving, hope they find what they need elsewhere. Team chemistry is critical to the Montana Way of doing things here.
