Trail of tears

It's going to happen. I watched the last 3 kitties game and their defense is weak. LJ is going to tear them apart. I can't wait!!!

Cats run game is very legit. Everyone knows it’s coming and still can’t stop it. Thankfully the Griz have been awesome at stopping the run. But the cats will still get theirs and score some points. I predict the Griz cut their average about in half like they have to everyone. So cats score maybe 23 points while Griz score 30+ for the win.

Holy shit, they did the Gatorade thing in that game? Hahahaha! Didn’t they also try to make a movie about playing the Griz or something?

I think you are spot on. Cats get behind and they will be in trouble. Griz D will be the toughest they have faced all year. I think the Cats might have also had an injury or two yesterday on their defense, which sucks. Want both teams healthy going in. A mediocre defense with a couple of injuries doesn’t bode well. Couple that with the playoffs being on the line for the Griz. This team knows what they have to do. On the road in a hostile environment, shut the crowd down early and keep their foot on the gas. Cats will score for sure, just not enough. Go Griz.

Sac was gonna put up numbers against the Griz D.
Cal Poly was gonna throw all over the Griz D.
EWU was gonna score their points on the Griz D.

None of those things happened until the Griz couldn’t move the ball with a B/U QB. When the B/U QB was serviceable, the Griz D held up just fine.

Pay attention to how many yards the ‘Scats have at the end of 3 quarters, and how many of their yards come in garbage time. Eastern had 310 yards for the game. Exactly HALF of those yards came after it was 56-0. 7 of their 16 first downs came after it was 56-0. That kind of thing.

One other thing: With the amount of running both teams do, this could be a VERY quick game, which could play into a lower scoring game than most anticipate due to fewer possessions for each team. MSU is the #1 rushing team in the conference. Griz are #1 against the rush. What happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable object?

We shall see…

Oh, and Montana has found a running game themselves in poor weather and against weak defenses. This will be the third in a row.

Thanks in part to an OL that is playing much better than it did the first half of the season.
