Well crap. At least with the strides they've made in repairing and rehabbing those he should be back soon. Best of luck to the young man, he's tough no doubt.

This staff has done an outstanding job of handling player injuries and health. I'm confident that a tough kid like Trase will be back at in due time.

Maybe even a medical redshirt could be in the cards....

Nope. He used his red-shirt year last year. Medical red shirt is rare and involves significant extenuating circumstances. His 5 year to play 4 has started and he used one last year. In order to get a 6th year, he basically has to miss 2 years due to injury, not one. This link explains it better.

Assuming he has surgery now (or better yet, last week), he could be back within 5-6 months and still hopefully participate in a good chunk of the 2017 season. I have no personal knowledge of his injury or timeline, that just seems to be the typical recovery period these days for an ACL.

Let the kid heal up, and regain confidence. If you've had any kind of knee surgery, nothing is going to feel normal the rest of this year. Nothing to rush him back for.

No doubt. Like I said I don't know anything about him personally, and I made that comment on the assumption that a medical redshirt won't be available and that he will be chomping at the bit to get back on the field in 2017. Just some positive thoughts for his recovery. And I've fortunately never had knee surgery.

In all honesty, I think the rivalry is primed to get as intense as it's ever been with Choate and Stitt. Both staffs filled with great recruiters, and their teams love them.

I see a lot of back and forth in the future. Tough for me to imagine a big win streak either way.

I agree with brewskis on this.....that's why I believe this particular year in recruiting the in state montana kids is crucial .....we both have had very good years and kind of balanced in recruiting these athletes,,,,who ever makes this class, the best class for in state will go a long ways imo, in establishing a winning record vs. the other team.......now, GO GRIZ!!!!!!!!

sat beside letexier family member at spring game in butte and trace will take the full year to heal and rehab his injury fully before coming back with vengeance...he is coming back for sure if all goes well and plans on starting his last two years at the u....he just may be that type of kid too...tough !
