Tournament Ticket Sales

got ours yesterday, seemed pretty steady for a mid afternoon.

would hope (expect) a large turnout for both games next week, also expect a much closer match as Weber and UM are the beasts of the big sky are certainly heavily favored to reach the finals....

I was about 8th in line first thing Monday morning & there were probably 20 people behind me. I bet we have a good crowd on Tuesday.

I hope you have good crowds. The crowds last year were bad. I hope a few Weber fans will make the trip.

Just saw that Montana is footing the bill for the first 1,000 students in the semifinal game. That is freakin' awesome. It would be better if the Big Sky let students in for free in tourney games, but if you asked WSU's athletic director Jerry Bovee to do something like that when the tourneys are in Ogden, he'd tell you to take a hike. That's dedication from the school, making sure their is a fan presence at their home games when it matters most. That's what has always set Montana apart from the rest of the conference, especially in football.

This was the best decision the athletic dept could have made. They finally were getting good (student) draws for the last three/four games, and I guarantee you that if they would have stuck with charging 10-15 the majority of the students would have said eff that. Sure, the diehard's would shell out the $, but the new student fans (which are MOST IMPORTANT right now) probably wouldn't have considered it. The UM knew this, and I give them some major kudos for not being greedy with blinders on.

My hats off, and standing applause to the Athletic Department for the ticket decision. I wonder how much of this a booster, and /or Tinkle is footing? I think this is the 2nd time the last 3 years something like this has been done. I don't remember what the other game was though.

Reserved seat tourney passes went on sale this morning. At 10 when they opened the window there were no seats available in the lower level or the upper level on the east or west sides. The north upper level will be students and GA so that will be full. The only seats available this morning were reserved seats in the south upper level. I'm predicting packed, raucous gyms for both Griz games.

So is the final on Thurs then? And will it be broadcast on an ESPN like last year?

I will be out of town till thurs night, dammit!

That is good news for the students.

I know some season ticket holders were going to be relocated from their seats for fans of other schools. If those seats for visiting team fans were in the lower level which I beleive were, there may be some seats opening up in the lower level. Will likely be available sometime before the semifinal games. Should keep checking then. Since there have been very few fans of other teams come to missoula to watch there team, I think a few seats on lower level will open up.

EWU, Montana State, and maybe Weber State would all bring a fair number of fans. I don't see Portland State or ISU doing it though. For the sake of the local economy, I am pulling for EWU and Montana State to win today.

I didn't see many kitten fans last week at either the Lady Griz or Griz games ...... maybe it would be different for a tourney game? Who knows......

Got got two passes (waited to see what came up when season ticket holders didn't renew) and got section 204 (behind Griz bench, 2nd level) row 8 - so there's some darn good seats out there right now.

the thing i love about our arena is there really isnt a bad seat in the house. I bought tickets the first day, so i could sit at the very top of 203...that way i dont have to sit all game, and i can bang on the roof when i need too! ready for a loud rowdy crowd...tuesday afternoon pregame at the pressbox couldnt happen soon enough!
