..... ....but their is not a lot of pressure for NAU due to the NIT bid. ....

That is the biggest load of rubbish I have heard in many years. :dope:

:naughty: Undeserved response. :lame:

Sorry. To say there is not a lot of pressure on NAU seems to say that NAU is just satisfied with going to the NIT.

But, NAU will be feeling the pressure of winning the tournament and reaching the goal of every team in division 1. That is, getting to the NCAA tournament. NIT is just for the money, not for the memories or glory.

There will certainly be more pressure on NAU since they won the regular season Big Sky Championship and hosting the tournament where they haven't lost a conference game yet. The odds of NAU winning is higher for them than any other team, considering NAU hasn't lost at home, plus 6 of the last 10 Big Sky Regular season champions also won the Big Sky Tournament.

I like Montana's chances, but the odds are still on NAU's side. But the fact that it is at their own court, and the number 1 goal that anybody cares about is the NCAA tournament.

The tourney is going to be awesome. What I dislike about this time of the year, is that some crappy little east coast conference, who is the worst conference in the nation RPI wise, will get more airtime then the BSC. I think the nation is missing out on some good basketball.

Like today when they showed the CIAA tournament quarterfinal?

Yeah, CIAA. Division II. Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Think of it as the SWAC that wasn't good enough to be in Division I basketball.

There was the Atlantic Sun tournament going on! How do you show a Division II quarterfinal when there is a D-I tournament going on?

I don't really understand the thinking behind that. At least the Big Sky Championship is on at a decent hour this year.

Who all on the board is planning on going to the tourney anyways? Besides you MGR, you lucky lucky man.

I think that both EWU and Sac have a great chance at an upset tonight. I think both games will be close, but UM or NAU will lose tonight.

UM 81 EWU 77

Sac 88 NAU 86

Well out of the 800 fans that go to games, how many of them have computers? Know what the internet is? Know what winter is? Felt snow? All of these questions are ones that I would love to have answered in the near future and if a NAU fan could help me out that would be great.

I don't know about the first 2 Swilly. But just so you don't look foolish when you face down somebody from Flagstaff, they get alot more snow than we do. :thumb:

:microwave: <-----------Thats me

Are you serious that they get more snow then us? That is surprising, I guess I need to step my Flagstaff AZ knowlegde game up then.....

Flagstaff's weather is remarkably similar to Missoula. Certainly more than most suspect. It's up at 6900 feet. It definately snows a lot there.

Flagstaff and Missoula are very similar in many ways really. The weather, Similar-sized Big Sky Conference Universities. Rand McNally has Flagstaff's population at 56,000, and Missoula's at 60,000. Both have ski areas named Snowbowl too.

there is no reason NAU can't draw bigger crowds for hoops. As much as we bemoan Dahlberg and the renovations years back, it is really a pretty nice venue for hoops, especially when it's full. Playing and watching b-ball in the Dome has got to suck. I remember going to a couple games at the Kibbie Dome in Idaho and it's really a lousy b-ball setting. It feels awkward. Basketball belongs in a gym, period!
