Toure and Akem—Draft

argh! said:
to get this back on track, who was it who recruited toure, plus akem? pretty sure the host for their official visits was a guy called kem, but the coach's name who did the actual recruiting escapes me.
Justin Green was the recruiting coordinator and Mike Ferriter was the passing game/receivers coordinator. Since I'm also a kem, Sammy and I bonded as family. Always there for Justin.

I mean I root for every ex-Griz, but I have my doubt about Toure. He had 1 great pro-bowl? game and all, and Green Bay is desperate at Wr all of a sudden, but really I'm not sure he's in my Top 10 Griz WR of all-time. I never saw him as an NFL-er. I'd take Etu Molden personally.

Etu is probably a step or two slower by now.

And in 2003, Etu could not out-run the Billings PD.

Please name 10 Griz recievers better then Samori.
Not saying these guys because I love Samori but just for fun;
Mariani, Douglas, Jones, Henderson, Ferris, Molden, Rice, Baker, Pacheco, Wells.

I would agree with most of that list, but I'd put Jones and Henderson a notch below Toure.

Those are all definitely quality top 10 recievers but you gotta remember that Samori didn’t play his Sr season here which normally would be his best ball. If he’d have stayed he’d likely own the career receptions record(75 short after catching a school record 87 balls his Jr year), the career TD’s record(9 short after 13 TD’s his Jr year) and he’d have destroyed the career receiving yards record(531 short after setting the single season record of 1495 his Jr year). I’m not saying he’s the greatest Griz reciever ever but a case could definitely be made for that too.

Also, Zirg owes you both a big thank you for stepping in for him when he couldn’t come up with a list himself.

I will never argue that if everything wasn't the way it was it would all be different. ;)

Hate to say it but, Toure is better than all of those guys.

Why do you hate to say it?

Did you actually see Joe Douglas play? Joe Douglas in 1996 was unstoppable.

IMO Mariani was better than Toure and I am not discrediting Toure. Toure leaving makes it pretty hard to make comparisons. He had a great junior year. However, I also think Joe Douglas was better.

You are wrong, not unusual for you. Mariani and Douglas could carry the team on their back. Toure was good, but I never saw that.

I would add Matt Wells as well...

In addition to Mariani and Douglas, I would put Jimmy Farris in front of (or at least tied with) Toure. He was in the NFL for quite a while. As I recall, Jimmy even lined up and tried a foot race with a horse. And the App State game-winner was sensational.

...the most talented griz reciever of all time...
...the chambers kid..udub transfer...
...no records..just talent...

... 8-) ...

You didn't see the SELA game? Mariani would only be better if you include PR and KR. But, just the WR position alone, Toure has more upside. I think NFL scouts would agree. Funny that Kem says it's usual for me to be wrong. I haven't seen you post anything that's right.. you're an old senile man. You probably have selective memory, or made up memory.

We missed out on what old have been his best season. He was limited in a shitty Nebraska offense and still killed it at the next level.

LOL...Nebraska passed for more yards than the Griz!
Nebraska - 3197
Montana - 2902
