Tough Schedule

Is it just me or do the schedules for UM/MSU look very tough over the next four games. UM is at SSU this week, then back home vs. PSU/EW, then back on road to NAU. MSU's is @NAU/SSU this week, then back home vs. PSU/EWU. I'd be stunned if either loses all four, but losing 3/4 could happen. This probably won't affect MSU, but UM could fall all the way out of hosting a first round game.
Any predictions? I don't think either will lose to NAU and both should beat EW, but the SSU and PSU games are toss ups.

With the way Griz play on the road, losing to NAU would not surprise me.

But the Griz have played quite well at home, and is very capable of winning both home games.

I predict Griz to finish 2 - 2, seeded 3rd or 4th, and host a first round game in the Big Sky tournament.

The Griz should get CSU on Thursday. Then they'll have a week to prepare for EWU, so I think they should get that game as well. Hopefully they can split the last two games. PSU has been a terrible road team thus far and I wouldn't be suprised to see them drop both games on the Montana road trip. It would take a major melt-down for the Griz not to host a game on March 5th.

The important game is the EWU game. That game establishes tie-breakers that favor the Griz over a couple of teams. If they won the EWU game and then lost the other 3, and as long as SAC lost one more game, the Griz would still get 3rd. EWU and SAC are the only two teams that could catch the Griz in the standings by the way. And for both of them to win out and knock the Griz out of hosting a playoff game are highly unlikely.

Griz should get Sac state on the road? It's not going to be that easy considering Sac State plays pretty well at home and is 4 - 1 and Griz tend to play pretty bad on the road and being only 2 - 3 on the road in conference.

In addition, PSU with a 3 - 2 road record isn't that terrible. I believe MSU is the only school with a better road record. And any team with a .500 or better record on the road is good. Wouldn't be surprised to see them pull one out in Montana. But Montana has been playing well at home, and I think Griz will win.

:o :o Any Griz or Cat road win Thursday would be huge. Griz road loss not a big deal but how they lost Sunday has created some anxiety. :o :o

Got that right.

And to amend the above post of mine about MSU having a better road record than PSU, they don't. PSU and MSU both have 3 - 2 road records in conference.
