Torches and Pitchforks

Aren’t you the same guy always bragging about a 6th place finish, one and done in the playoffs and a #14 ranking?

14th or 15th last year he's not sure. Big home tough dominating playoff win. More playoff wins (hint....round of 24 at home helps) than Sac State. Stitt was 33rd his final year. Heck Griz still 23rd...pretty good.

Stitt? Why are Don Read Mick Dennehy Joe Glenn Robin Phlugrad never mentioned as possible measuring sticks for RTD DOLA BOBBY 2.0?

Exactly.

You can’t laugh or enjoy the experience because otherwise Bobby will get his contract extended.

If he does get a contract extension, the it's because he earned it. That means he pulls a rabbit out of his hat and get this team and coaches to perform. I have hope, but I'm m a grumpy old man and a realist. We'll see how the season pans out. Maybe he wins the NC???

I can laugh and enjoy the moment. Hell, my house burned down, but I didn't lose my sense of humor. True story. Lived in a motel for six weeks. Experienced homelessness, with a backup plan. :thumb:

I was being sarcastic but programs go through ebbs and flos. Is it disappointing to see Griz struggle? Yep. But some have lost perspective and I’ve said in numerous posts that Bobby might not make it after this year. But you know the game is coached by humans and played by younger humans.
And your story gives you perspective. And I think there might be a need for a lot of perspective checks after Griz have struggled. I’ve read Bobby is racist for not playing McDowell, the AD struggles with decisions because he is Mormon, the coaches should be fired mid season. . Those are just a few of the gems.
You know there is a process that happens. If things don’t get better then you know what happens. He won’t be rehired. Right now I think he needs a hell of a rally to get another contract . I’m cheering for him because he coaches my favorite team. He succeeds means Griz succeed.

We’ve tried this. It was almost a decade ago, but it seems almost like yesterday. I was in charge of the torches. As I was hauling them to the meeting spot in a box van, some person got the urge to use them to burn down a bunch of structures for insurance money and the love of the ga—. Anyway, the torches never made it, and that’s what I think eventually led to our loss at NAU a week ago. Butterfly effect.

Yep! Connect the dots. I just didn't have all the dots. I do now, thank you. What a picture it creates. :o

Damn you. Blaming everyone else for your failures. That led directly to the NAU loss.

Be better, man. Be better. Butterfly effect, my ass.

All I can do is review the tape and see where I can improve. There are a lot of variables in driving torches to a meeting spot. It’s all water under the foot bridge, which was the meeting spot, and is incredibly flame retardant…I’m told.

I’m sick and damned tired of your excuses and taking plays off. Either commit 100% or tap out and let someone else take over. You’re embarrassing yourself, your family, and the program.

All of that is fair, and I take ownership.
